From a friend of mine.
They seem to have a similar school year to USA. We have 4 days off in November for Thanksgiving (the 3rd Thursday, and Friday of November, along with the Saturday and Sunday bordering it), the 23rd of December to the 3rd of January's off again for Xmas/New Year's/Winter break. The week before Easter Sunday and the day after easter Sunday is another set of days off. Memorial Day on the last Monday of May is another few days off. That's it! |

wrooong
like brunette said, but winter vacation is about dec 25- jan 13
but sometimes when it's really cold during the winter or there's a flu epidemic or something, they get about a month or more off... but they get homework then... and we start on sept 1st and go till may 25 or about so...
what was awesome about my school is that it started @ 9 am and ended @ 3, we had 5/6/or 7 periods per day with one 15-minute break and a bunch of 10-minute breaks... though the last year was kinda sucky caz there was a problem with the schedule and we had to go to school on a saturday: 9-1
what's really hard here in the us is the first two terms that go from sept 5th until dec 23... we do get some days off like thanksgiving and stuff, but still it's so goddamn stressfull |

| Ive decided that Im actually pretty lucky. In israel(where my cousins go to school) they have school 6 days a week with no summer vacation. I guess I have to count my blessings :eyes: |

DAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMNNNNN!!!!!!! I didn't know that! How unlucky they are! They must have 300+ days of school/year! Why do they have school SIX days/week instead of 5? Also, they must get a LOT of holidays off if they have no Summer break! |
