Definitely going to this. I've heard about these Wednesday Mayan nights, with people saying that these events are Digweed at his purest. GU 19 was one of the first albums I bought back in the day when I was new to the scene, so it was very seminal and important in shaping my taste, and I've always looked at Digweed as the benchmark in terms of performance and the music itself.
This is going to be a special night for me. Can't wait! |

| Super excited for this. The last time I saw Digweed at the Mayan was awesome. I gotta wait till my schedule of classes for next quarter to figure out if I can though. |

Fantastic.
Got my ticket.
I think once I get old and crusty (think 40+), these are probably the nights I'll still be going to. |

There is a hard ticket option. I thought about buying them that way too, but ! It was $12 Shipping!!!! F-That! |
Yeah, just saw that...and I really need my ticket in the middle of March for this event that's happening in May, so I'm more than willing to pay $12 for FedEx 3 day saver shipping...NOT!
Jeez, I remember ordering Sensation White tix from the Netherlands, and they mailed the tix for free by regular mail. I asked what would happen if they were lost in the mail, and they said "No problem, we just send you new ones and invalidate the old ones!"
The only solution is moving to Amsterdam, obviously! :D |

| I'm in. This was the best event I have ever been to. Minimal lighting, older crowd and amazing music. Will never miss another one of his Mayan gigs. |

Took 5.17 off, and got a hotel nearby (coming up from san diego!)
Might just spend the whole weekend up there...anything else worthwhile going on in LA that weekend? |

Have you been to a Digweed show on a Wednesday night? It's completely different crowd than you see at any of those venues that you mentioned. Day and night. They don't go out to see Digweed because of bottle service, overpriced ticket prices, and for sure they don't go because of the eye candy. Digweed on a Wednesday is everything those venues aren't. , the Mayan is in a ty neighborhood, it's dirty, smells like ass, it's tagged up, it's hot, it's old, it's runned up, but you know what? That makes it special. It has character. Something that those venues lack.
Most people that go out on Wednesday to see Digweed are old schoolers who grew up listening to his music. The crowd is much older and you def don't get jersey shore crowd. You get some, but not many. Like Billy said, the vibe there is awesome, very old school. It's like a big reunion where people like me who don't get to party much anymore get a chance to come out and hang out. |
Well said Woody!! Digweed at the Mayan in 2005 was one of the best sets I have seen. As Digweed said himself, there is something special that occurs when you combine a more music oriented crowd with a true technician in the right venue. I'm glad to see he is still doing the Wed nights at the Mayan. |
