There is no such thing as best. Its matter of taste and different base types.
Like i love reason 4s sub base patch which includes several layers that i crafted a year ago. And i have used it in many projects as I find it so versatile.
So for deep house i would use different than FE. uplifting or progressive.
BUT presonal preference (as i think many agrees) is sylenth1 i don't love it as a sub base but when layering different baselines i just simply love it! |

well everyone know that it must be analog to get that real bass sound.
You only get 1 chance to make your drop count, enough said. |

It's "bass", not "base".
The answer is Trilian. 9 out of 10 bassists recommend it for their students who chew gum. It is the best. |

The best basses are the free basses.
You should give Symptohm:Melohman PE a try. There's some killer bass patches in that one. And what's cool is you can use an octave of your keyboard to morph between preset variations, so it can be as expressive as you want. |
