| i've been to his flat several times, it's basicly this: his bedroom, his kitchen, his bathroom and then his hall and living room is filled with records & cd's. and that's not even his complete collection, he has a whole bunch of records at his parents place. |

This really brings back memories from when electronic music was really big on the radio in Norway in my teens. Abstract, Strangefruit, g-Ha and all those guys would be caning this kind of house for all it was worth at clubs like Skansen and Head On in Oslo, and it was very much the PC thing to play as a DJ.
It's difficult to listen to this kind of house now, since people are still busier than ever recycling the formula in 2012, and the second half of this mix is too tracky and repetitive for my tastes (a problem I always had with this stuff). Still, the old Svek records were immensely popular for a reason, and the smoothness contrasted with irresistible punch and groove shown in this mix is a good example of why. I would expect nothing less from a guy with your kind of record collection (and subsequently bone dry piggy bank).
The mixing was quite serviceable, too, apart from some rather abrupt fader curves. It ends on a nice high note with that Pepe Bradock-track for sure. Looking forward to more mixes! |

Actually, I possess the true "first" mix you made, Mikael.
:D
Can't believe you messaged me on facebook. I am facebook challenged, for sure. Or was that blurb just something you wrote on your facebook account and it shows up in my email because I stalk you? Meh, I need to deactivate that account. Again. It is too confusing.
So so, I won't lie, none of those tracks are familiar to me but I do recognize uno dos tres artistes.
So, I'm being rather chatty, aren't I? Congrats on putting this together.
Now you have no excuse. Can I persuade you to put together a "Tranceaddicts share their classics" mix?
Okay, okay, I'm gonna listen to your set this evening. I'll pop back in with compliments.
:tongue3 |
