probably old new but i thought the price was pretty damn amazing for what you get. I mean for the full package, about 1000$ and that is all you really need.

I use to have a soft spot for people that pirated because things were just out of reach but this package has everything and it is affordable. I mean if you have a computer, you can afford this.

Agree, have it myself, great package and using it more and more with every new track I create - love that s***t :D

I'm still on Komplete 6 and I bought the individual products that wanted as they were released over the last few years, so I never saw a good reason to upgrade to K7 or K8. K8 Ultimate just looks like an eff'ing bloat-fest.

The problem with Komplete is it's great when you buy it the first time, but the crossgrades are just not worth it

there was a time when all those sample libraries where sold by independent companies at like 200$ a pop. And you don't have to use it all. But really, if you wanted to start doing any sort of music, this is really all you would need. It isn' bloated, there is alot but I wouldn't consider that bloat. There is very little crap as far as what is listed.

It's great, although I'm still on K6

The extra library content and Kontakt 5 are probably worth the upgrade for me, although not to Ultimate, I don't need that. I've got Evolve mutations 1&2 already anyway.
Lolo
actually I'd love to have k8 so I could upgrade kontakt and get those missing libraries. I still have a big thomann coupon, so I believe next month I'll upgrade finally.

Ultimate is of course a fest but I can't afford it right now, I have other priorities such as a folding bike for my city rides and the groceries as I'm selling my car too :-D
Looney4Clooney
you can' own a computer and monitors and claim that you just can't fathom 1000$ on the tools you would need to make any sort of music.

+1

There are those of us still running our computers from 2006 (or even earlier) and hoping that they don't break.

I had Komplete Ultimate at the top of my soft-synth want-list since last year. I was waiting for it to come under $1000 so I don't get hit with import tax. It is still over $1000 in local stores.

But I went a different route instead.

I recently acquired Zebra 2, so I am going to use that instead of Massive. I was actually thinking of getting Trillian but I looked at my hard drive space available and I don't really have that much space.

I also have Phoscyon now. I'll never get sick of the 303. Never, never, never. For synth and bass, I am now well covered I think.

All I really need to complete my soft-synth arsenal is something like Kontakt or Alchemy, for sample-mangling.
