so how was PVD's set? did he play a more housey or more commercial (maybe from his new album) b/c playhouse attracts a typically non-EDM crowd?
just outta curiosity, did he use a dubstep transition between tracks? he did that in miami WMC a few weeks ago. it worked okay (maybe an arty collaboration influence), but it kinda surprised me. for a minute, i thought he was gonna pull a fei-fei! |

| Started trancey, ended housey, the house part more commercial, the trance part not so, no dubstep. |

this guy seems like a big hypocrite to me.
wasn't he making fun of trance producers a few years ago saying that the vocal trance that's being released is garbage yet he's playing commercial house now and throwing dubstep here and there? |

| They all are completely confused now, trance dj/producers that is. Not really sure what to play because they have to keep up with the Jones's. If they would have not flopped so easily there would still be alternate genres of dance music to choose from. Unfortunately the line is so blurred now that everyone wants to be each other instead of being themselves. PvD was a champion back in the day of playing that only he would play, this sadly is not the case anymore. His recent album "Evolution" is one of the saddest pieces of 'music' I have ever heard. There is only one track that is labeled as his and the rest is a hodge podge of other artists + Paul van Dyk. Dance music is supposed to be the most alive its ever been, I feel that it is so dead and we just continue to the corpse over and over again!! |
