Hi guys, I'm Dan, new to this forum, so heres my first post. I'll be trying to listen to other peoples tracks as much as possible, and leave comments and follow on soundcloud where I can.
If anyone wants to follow me on soundcloud thats cool, I always follow back and generally leave comments on tracks.
Anyway, this is a link to my current work in progress, although I do electro/house and dubstep, I thought I would join up and post my more Trancey work here :)
Mixdown is decent enough. Certain parts are really dry though, the snare is kind of dated sounding as well, so is the percussion. The synths and idea are cool. Not really Toolroom material like the comment in sound cloud. Listen to some Toolroom, you'll see what I mean.
Cool chords and melody, but that snare is just a little too cheesy. The high percussion kind of drowns out behind that open filter on the synth. A bit cheesy, can't really move past that snare, and the percussion doesn't give it the serious dance feel it needs. Good synth work though.
Maybe you need some additional feedback from people in this forum, sound cloud users tend to just be fair weather friends and don't offer constructive criticism. The percussion really does need to be tighter and better mixed though.

Yeah I know what you mean about soundcloud, not much constructive criticism. I havent properly mixed the track yet and theres a lot more to do on it, Ive only spent a day and a bit on this one, so ill definitely take your points about the snare and perc on board.
Ive been arranging on headphones so once I get this going on my monitors hopefully it will be more obvious where Im going wrong sample and mix-wise!

so:
I like the first half your progression,(1.44 <> 1.57) stick at that, rather than brabling on, with not really a strong resolve.
Also why do you have your percussion loops lined up perfectly before the break and bongo's and hats wander off all over the place after the break?
Barachem
This track sound decent enough, but the melodic progression sounds really familiar.
Yep, found the similar track:
Have you been inspired/influenced by this track or a similar one?

Hi, I ve never heard of the track or the artist! My main inspirations are artists like deadmau5, also Im a big fan of classic rock, but most of my melodies generally come from just messing on a keyboard...

I'm a big fan of proglifter - I remember the day it arrived as a promo, but this track is a lot different - the first few chords of the progression are the same, but it's not the same - the problem is it doesn't progress as well as proglifter, and the similarity in the first few chords and bassline will be noticed by anyone who has heard that track and they'll be expecting the beautiful chord sequence of proglifter, and as a result this dissapoints. It doesn't help that you've stumbled upon similar sounds too!
