I saw a thread get deleted today. Then I put up a similar thread and it got deleted. Curious how that works, who does it, ect. Diginut wasn't in the forum when it happened and my thread got deleted very quickly.
Also, my thread was just a cat picture, which to my knowledge didn't break any rules. |

It's because threads like these are meta discussions that don't concern the purpose of the forum.
| quote: | | That is to say, discussions about the forum itself or its members as opposed to actual music production. These topics are of no relevance to anyone except the most "hardcore" members (and sometimes not even them). If you have a question or problem of this nature, please PM me or one of the other mods instead. |

Mods are usually invisible in that list. Which is good. There's also a swamp monster checking things out regularly. |

It is a weekly cleanup thing lol - just kidding, had to happen, last few days we got really productive and created a lot of bs.

Guys, I'm not a mod but treat this as a heads up;
Digi had received several notifications about the production forum getting out of hand, so deleted some off topic threads and although i don't know, I'm assuming a couple are probably in thin ice in terms the holiday or ban hammer.
We all post stupid , get irate and go off on tangents during discussions, but that should only be the minor supplemental part of the content in the Production Forum, but recently it's been the main content.
Remember, you want to talk bollocks, chat off topic, or discuss music (yes, that too) then go do it in the appropriate forum, not here.
Why? Because this is still one of the few places left on the net that has some really useful info from people who actually know what they are talking about. There's a reason all the other sites have gone down the pan. Don't let it happen here. |

| i apologize for losing it. Said some things i regret. Kinda embarrassed. Probably a sign that i need to take a break from forums for a bit. |

We have the Chill-Out Room for talking about random , and the Music Discussion forum for talking about random music-related .
We don't have a strict on-topic rule here, but unfortunately, most people don't practice moderation. One thing leads to another and we inevitably end up with the kind of pointless and destructive drama we all saw this week.
It's nice that some of you have found like-minded people on this forum and want to just hang around and chat, but try to keep in mind that the main reason most of those people came here to begin with was to talk about music production. If they wanted pictures of cats they could and would head over to 4chan or reddit. Mindless chatter and personal drama being constantly advertised on our front page will only drive away the kinds of people we want and attract the ones we don't.
Don't start any more drama threads, in-joke threads, or meta threads. Go ahead and talk about Beatport or parody videos or whatever, but keep a lid on the egregiously off-topic and/or inappropriate threads. That includes threads like this one.
And please: Don't blame, don't apologize, don't create "cheer-up" threads, or any of that. A little cool-off time is better medicine than another public discussion explicitly calling attention to matters best forgotten. Thank you. |
