I think this is my best track yet (trance oriented of course)
what do you guys think?
Its far from complete - this is only a couple of hours work so far...
will add many more instruments / loops but this is the feel i'm going for.
updated added v2 into the set. only added piano - comes in 1:37
updated added v3 into the set. |

The beginning synth is cool! you could drag it out a little longer. When the kick comes in, im not sure if theres a light hat along with it or if it just a wierd high-end, but you could remove that. Around 1:55, the percussion briefly takes over the whole mix.
Overall, theres no doubt youve got some good ideas in this one. Just needs some refining and a little bit more natural progression. Keep working at it! best of luck. |

Can't really add much to this. I really like the progression with the arpeggio and the sound selection is nice.
The piano is a little over-stated - you'd probably fix that without my input - and the bass-line could come up a little. I really like what you've got down, so far, and look forward to the finished product. |

yea I think what you're hearing is a little click that sometimes happens whenever i export things from FL Studio. I have no hat there but sometimes the exported product has some hiccups that shouldn't be there.
you're right about hte piano - i was going to change that around a bit - I just sort of rushed to get that in there before i forgot the riff.
thanks for the kind words guys |

| Nice. More variation on that progression would be nicer though. Pretty much cleaned up after the last round of crit, too. Keep at it. |

sounds very nice :) i like the shimmering textures you've got going on
i feel the piano gets a bet repetitive after the main drop - and perhaps it even sounds like its clashing with something frequency wise at that point? Im only listening on my laptop so hard to be sure
perhaps it might be an idea to drop the piano from the arrangement at some point during the main body, or cut down the amount thats its playing, or filter it in and out of the mix with a low pass filter and some resonance?
just ideas of course - lovely track |

| Personally, I think the beginning could benefit from a softer piano sound as well as a more filtered down delay, as well as a less messy mix. Other than that, I like where this is going ^_^ |

First of all - nice tune ...
You've got a near perfect texture there in places. Simple chords and nice dynamic basss expression (Cutoff control I'm imagining).
However, I would go further than Dead Pixel and suggest you maybe drop the piano altogether - it detracts from teh best parts and changes the feel of the tune utterly.
I actually love the straight forwardness of the very first version and there's the basis of a tune with real power and forward energy.
Cheers |
