I wouldn't have kept posting on these boards if I didn't like the music. I'm not IGK.

I wonder what happened with him. Bas randomly banned the guy, and I don't think he's ever been back?
That was ages ago, too. A year or something? :stongue:

I've only ever met one person who claims to absolutely HATE music; all music. I'm thinking he must have that disorder (Amusia /Musical Agnosia) in which he simply is unable to process music properly in his brain, so it all just sounds like any other noise. That's gotta suck :nervous:

i should upload a video of me mate richo
richo is a class act with his broken guitar it only has 2 strings
:toothless
he plays to me everytime i visit and its always the same song with the same 2 notes over and over again. Hes my good mate so i tell him its magnificent everytime and clap wildly. This is the only time i see him happy grin form ear to ear drooling and cheering with me. We've been mates for a little over a decade now. The years have not been so kind on him as it has for me.

I thing he has ALT'ed a few times but so randomly and very few not to be noticed.
I think it was the best for him, like when Homer got the Crayon stuck in his brain and it made him smart or when George stopped thinking about sex and because really focused.
Right now IGK is reading a book.

I've gone through periods where I was very jaded about (editor's addition: "everything") music, and so went without it until the time felt right. There's nothing wrong with that. Certain seasons of the year or certain smells or events will remind me that I ought to listen to this or that anymore, though. Music is very much about association, and if the only association you apply to it is listening to the same thing over and over again, your mind is definitely going to take a on you, because you've stopped using it. It's how people reach such laughable platitudes like "the only good music is from the past" and "nobody makes good music anymore".
No you cannot enjoy new things. All you want to hear are the old things regurgitated to you, listlessly. It's the very prevalent root of all conservative thought, political and otherwise. Nothing good or innovative shall ever develop from it, and you know what? That is fine. Just shut the up about it, because nobody is going to come save you.

I used to have to take brakes as well. But nowadays i just switch to non-music when i get fed up. Either dogmatically experimental electronica or ridiculously loud hard dance. Does well in breaking convention, which i need sometimes no matter how diverse the music i listen to and to top that i'm certain i come out a little more cultured and sophisticated each time. hmm?

Try this for instance:

I as well have gone periods of time without listening to music, especially searching for new bands/producers/etc. Everything that Hal said I couldn't say it better. Also, now that I have no Dj equipment left and Bedroom Djing isn't a hobby anymore, sometimes if I hear a good EDM set or song it will stoke me up so much that I want to start buying gear/songs and that is a hobby I can't afford/support time wise at this moment.

I listen to music so that I don't die of reality.
