I have been tossing around a few ideas that actually are very true about our society
After closely looking at what we need as a species to survive and what we have had to do in the past we no longer need due to our technological advancement.
In the past we needed to mass-reproduce to prevent societal and familial mortality. We no longer need the source: our sex-drive to continue such trends in the future.
In the past we needed our bodies to store up and use nutrients differently from what their base composition is. Sugars were ingested and used immediately. proteins were saved for near-future energy reserves and rebuilding of body tissue. Fats were generated for when food was scarce due to our nomadic life style. We no longer require this method of energy storage as it is abundant in all forms and we are sedintary and no longer nomadic.
We no longer need human to human interaction at a personal level to facilitate happiness as we can obtain this by ourselves on the internet through all channels of life. You can order your food from a grocery store to get it dropped off, order material goods on-line to have it delivered, etc...
Yes, we still do need some element of a sex drive but not in an un-orthodox type way. We just need to be able to produce enough humans for the future generation so as to not decline in population and maintain it. We require social interaction at a non-personal level because the world cant run without the movement of goods from one location to another.
What would help eliminate the entire need for social interaction and nutritional benefits is the invention of bio-reporgramming and bio-teleportation
What do I mean by bio-reporgramming? I simply mean the ability to delete memories from our neural pathways much in the way we are able to do so with computers. This would end depression after divorce, loss of a loved one, traumatic stress from war, emotional discomfort from physical and emotional abuse. This would also help us remap neurons that lead to non-agonizing emotions. If one feels lonely, depressed, sad, etc... they can just delete the feelings from happening again. Perhaps building a persona neural-net more and more geared towards happiness with every subsequent delete.
What do I mean by bio-teleportation? I mean having regulatory systems inside our brains that tell the imbedded tele-portation signature-devices within our kidneys, bowels, and for females their reproductive organs. This would effectively remove the requirement for wasted time from urination, deification, and for woman to not experience periods. This also goes one step further, the regulation of our body weight and illness. If there are nutrients or pathogens in our bodies that will cause us to become overweight or ill these nano-teleportation devices would teleport what ever element or cell out of the body, remove or destroy said element from that cell, and reteleport it back into the body. Thus leaving the body un-aware that anything happened at least at a conscious and sub-conscious level.
Reproductive implications of bio-teleportation This will be the ultimate nail in the coffin in regards for the need of the sexual drive within us. How you may ask? We require the two gender's respective gametes to be joined. This can be done by directly teleporting the male gamete out of the males body directly into the females human-synthesizing chamber. And then upon successful unification of the gametes teleport them directly out into a sterlized and well-sanitized facility so as to prevent contamination and prevent any adverse chemical reactions in the newly conceived human.
This I feel is the ultimate way to help maintain our species in the future and to remove all aspects of our current day strife. |

Most everyone of these ideas serve little purpose and only succeeds in making us worse. Rather then removing a lot of our inbuilt survival mechanics you may want to focus on improving them instead. After all, what if the system fails? Either by technological mishaps our human involvement, if we are unable to reproduce and sustain ourselves naturally were going to be pretty damn screwed.
You also offer no decent argument as to why all this is necessary. You're talking about a future scenario were teleportation on a microscopic level is the order of the day, yet you still foresee mass reproduction as being a problem there and i don't see why.
Also, rather then to abolish energy reserves, which as long as we need to eat is going to serve a purpose even if you don't think it does. Why not remove the need to eat altogether? Just teleport in nutrients. If we don't need to reproduce then we certainly don't need to be eating.
But more importantly, how do you envision our lives without real social interaction and without the need for any biological necessities. Will everything be about spiritual fulfillment? |

Would you be so kind as to define "happiness"? The correlation you mentioned in the other thread makes no sense whatsoever. |

The reason why I removed the desire to teleport the nutrients in is due to the mechanical aspects of taste. If something doesnt taste good it sends a bio-electrical signal from our tongues to our brain telling it it /could/ be bad. So to remove this bio-mechanical subsystem would in the long run be detrimental to our species health in the future.
Furthermore if a certain actor or sub-actor that has originated from some sub-set of bio-mechanics or physical mechanics has operated for the 15 billion years the universe has been in existence that means our human sub-system has had those sub-systems impacting us from our very beginning as a genus-species pairing. We live in a system that has pretty much become closed off to any universal influence because of our technological advancements. We are able to predict and further protect ourselves from mechanical destruction of a meteor, able to monitor star's redshift and light signatures to predict whether it will go super-nova in the near future. All of these and more predictadory measures we harness will help us continue on into future generations.
The previous paragraph was used as a primer for this one. We dont need our social interaction at a personal level anymore because we have a better conduit of communication that also archives itself and can replicate itself in a more efficient way. It is much like the telephone concept where one person hears something, passes it to the next, passes it to the next, etc... sooner or later the message gets jumbled by our emotions. The previous paragraph demonstrated predictable outcomes from forces outside our realm of existence and seeing that property being utilized from an internal perspective is also required. Efficiency, speed, and integrity are the 3 pillars of survival. This forum is an example. I just have to simply hit "Submit reply" and its instantaneously ready for viewing by you guys. I dont need your physical address to personally deliver this message to you.
From a spiritual standpoint we must look at our emotions and how we like to protect ourselves at an emotional personal level by rationalizing that of which we dont know with what we can rationalize through our areas of faith. Remove the emotions that cause this cycle and remove the cycle completely.
This brings me to my next point: Failsafe modes of operation. So much like computer raid systems that have a level of failure tolerance we can build this into humanity as well. If we pick out of the many humans being reproduced at that current time a subset of humans from every continent and nationality to be "future sentinels" this can prevent a human system failure. If and when we develop telekinetic technologies making ourselves a wifi endpoint. We can then have these sentinels listening for signals from other humans. If that signal threshold drops below a certain level their programs awaken to prevent a system failure. We can even take this a step further by the following concept.
Lets say you have 1000 humans living in this system
you pick groups of humans that have 50 in their group for 20 groups in total.
Each group listens at a sub-sub-conscious level to eachother.
If the fault tolerance is lets say 20% or 200 in this case
The chances of any one group from being completely removed from this society is astronomically slim
So upon reaching this threshold these programs turn "on" to compensate.
You might argue that this brings us back to the whole "sexual drive" aspect. It does not because these programs have been developed such that it is used for reproduction purposes only to prevent a system-wide melt-down. Of which again due to the whole bio-teleportation system requires no human interaction in the first place. |
