Genre Question (help)

Hello everyone. New to the site. Hope to expand on here. Anyway, I have a question regarding genres.

When I think of trance, I think of:
First State
W&W
Cosmic Gate
etc.

I have recently heard a different style of electronic music. All I can describe it as is really high energy (about 180bpm / 90bpm depending on how the measures are split) It is not really like dub step. Acts include:

Evil Activities
Nitrogenetics
Dj Outblast

What is this (the latter) genre called? Thanks

Oh yeah, I've heard some hardstyle too...how do you distinguish from gabber and hardstyle? Is it just that hardstyle has less hardcore content / explicit lyrics than gabber? Or is it a tempo thing? They both seem to have similarities, at least in terms of production style (similar kick drum styles / synth tones)
