Shopping for a piano technician?

I may need to find a piano technician to tune up & service a decently-kept 30 or so year old acoustic upright piano. What are some important things to look out for?

From my limited research, it's apparent that a good piano technician will listen to the unique character of your piano's harmonics and adjust accordingly... as opposed to just tuning it up with a universal electronic "one size fits all" tuner preset.

The piano may also need other work I'm not aware of yet. What are some appropriate questions to ask, and things to look out for, when auditioning my local lot of technicians?

Thanks for any input guys.

Save your money dude, just download the Free Omnisphere and use your midi keyboard

A former bandmate of mine is a professional pianist and piano tech in the mid-Michigan area. If you happen to live there, look him up. He also tours a lot, so you could check to see if he's going to be in your area any time soon. At the very least, you could contact him with any questions. He's pretty well known, too, so he may be able to refer you to someone in your area.
