No, MIDI will give you 16 channels, so you'll still be limited by the number of audio inputs/outputs that you have between your synth and your soundcard.

This. MIDI just confuses the issue.

Remember, you don't need stereo speakers since 97% of club PA's are in mono to avoid phasing cancellations.

Why do I feel like I'm missing something? Is there some obvious trolling going on here that I'm totally oblivious to? His questions seem legit to me. :conf:

Oh ok, good because I've tried MIDI in the past and hated it. Guess I just have to get the good sound cards

THANKS, it is a legit question, I promise...I've never had anyone show me a proper studio set up before, just been trying to piece it together on my own, so forgive me for sounding noob. I've been producing awhile, just haven't got my layout down. Appreciate it cryophonik

You sure? Have you tried reading a tutorial?

You'll still need to use MIDI if you plan on sequencing in the software host. MIDI will send all of the controller information (e.g., notes played, velocity, automated control changes) to your Juno either over USB or MIDI connections. If you're still planning on using the Juno's onboard sequencer, or playing the parts in live one at a time, then you won't necessarily need MIDI, but using the host's sequencer is a lot more convenient.

OK, I will use both then, because don't want to deal with velocity, etc. on the Juno, would rather do it on the software program...

Remember, MIDI is a 2-way communication, so you can play the parts on your Juno and record the MIDI information with the software, then go into the software's MIDI editor and edit it. That's the way I primarily work and it's a lot faster than writing in one note at a time. Or, you can just draw/write it into the the software and not have to play the parts on the Juno at all.

I honestly think a lot of his questions can be resolved through Google but you're kung fu is better than mine so I'll yield.

Didn't ya get a copy of Sonar LE with your keys? You should have got a disc with Sonar LE on it as well as Dimension Pro LE and Rapture LE, I think.
Those should start you just fine for multitracking and volume mods (trance gate).
