WIP - it's a strange one, not sure about it - would love comments

it's called somewhere, between a fairground and a nintendo

which is what my GF called it when she heard it - I'm not sure if I love it or hate it, but I've heard it a lot over the last 24hours

it's a proper WIP, so it's in no way tidy, but I'd love to hear what you guys think

cheers

I'm just as interested in those that hate this one as anyone who likes it, it's a strange track! so leave a comment =)

I really like the way it evolves. It's a very nice track overall but I'd drop that melody which can be heard 0:30-0:45 - it sounds kinda out of place to me.

cheers man!

This track reminds me of that one time I smoked salvia lol. I felt like the world was messing with me, and couldn't seem to understand why the couch was lower than the floor and the floor was higher than the couch ( get it?).

This track seems to me like a brainstorming track, where you sit down and put different ideas down with the same general concept. I'm quiet fond of them for brainstorming, but the only ones thus far I've listened to are my own, and I always feel a little cooky when doing so :P. Anyhow on to the technical.

I like your kick it sits nicely. The synths and sound all have that nintendo/circus vibe to them.

All the synths except for the part around 2:00+ and shortly after are too airy for my taste. They are lacking those mids to fill them out, but I think that has more to do with the vibe you were going for than a lack of programming, eqing etc.

My favorite part was around the two minute mark when you get that thicker (deadmau5-esque chord playing through). I think that's the part of the song you'd want to take and make into a full track.

The chord progression in a more mainstream version of that section I liked would need to be changed slightly just to take that circus vibe off of it. If I remember correctly the first two chord changes are good. Its the third one that gets a little too dissonant and quirky.

Thanks for the comments MK - really useful

it's a strange on this track - I'm getting more hits on soundcloud/sharkseatpeople than I am on my main soundcloud/clubsharkrecords!

will be doing some production work on it this evening to smooth it out a little

cheers for taking the time everyone =)

Not my cap of tea but definitely enjoyed this Lego Land experience :D

Couple of things thou, I notice very unconventional approach structuring this track, almost like few different modules blended nicely together and each of them have specific and distinct melodic character to it - sounded really cool and interesting/funny (positive way)

Another thing is that all of them are drive by the same/similar drums pattern which is very close resemblance to deadmau5 style and give this production a nice, cool and very distinct rhythmic vibe.

As for WIP is really clean lol - hope this will help, always nice to have different opinion/perspective ;)

Cheers,

Hey mate, do you plan a returning to trance? 'Object' is still fantagasmic.

Btw, are you still on Cubase?

Trancelover007 - thanks so much for the comments =) very useful

Tranceelevation: yes matey- trance is my first love! thanks so much for the comment about Object: this is coming out in early may on my label Clubshark Red:

pretty trancey

plus I've got another WIP that is really in the optik style, I'm a little concerned it's too oldschool, but I'll stick it up as a WIP in another topic and see what you think

still on cubase, tried logic and failed!

cheers!

Hmm...too electroish for me.

But anyway, I will be following you on SC. :)
