MINDCONTROL + SLEEPY & BOO @ Yotel New York

Spring is in the air and there's nothing better than taking in some music and fun outdoors! On Thursday, April 19th, come down to the Yotel New York on 42nd Street as we kick off a new after work and all night party - with music by Mindcontrol, Sleepy & Boo, Gino Santos and more. We have FREE entry until 8pm, and some sweet Happy Hour drink and bottle specials, with the Yotel's delicious food and snacks available. Lounge outside and then we take it inside late night on the Yotel's dope Funktion One sound system.

I totally agree- and would be there if other things werent planned already. I did tell a few heads about it and I beleive they are going. Good luck. |

The promo for this was honestly really misleading in a few ways.
I only went from like 630-930, I was expecting happy hour prices and an outside deck. Happy hour drinks were basic well drinks in small cups and they were TEN DOLLARS. Regular price is 14. Even at Cielo when there's happy hour it's actual 2 for 1, not an insane drink price marked down to a slightly less insane drink price.
The outside deck was so far from the party that I didn't even go out there for more than 5 minutes because I couldn't hear any music.
Yotel is cool, I'm sure Mindcontrol was great but the party did not match what was advertised. I didn't feel like dropping $100+ on drinks on a Thursday afternoon party so I left. |

You're right - the drinks were expensive there. Next time we do this we'll make sure to get some better specials for our guests.
Yotel is working through some logistical issues regarding the outside deck, noise, things like that. Unfortunately the hotel lobby font desk is between the outside and the club lounge and they just cant have club music blasting out there.
There was music in the covered bar outside but it was lower than inside.
Anyhow thanks for coming out and we appreciate your input. Lots of people came by last night so thanks to all for the support.

I think it will be an awesome spot for summer parties if they work out the logistical issues and there are decent drink specials. The interior design is really nice. Thanks for working on it. |

Yeah, Yotel is a great spot. Hopefully everything will come together.
Glad nobody ended up getting manhandled by the Yobot hehe. |

thanks for posting some sort of review. i'm sure like all, it's expected to have these types of logistical issues for a new party. I'd like to see this on a bi-weekly or monthly level with a way to incorporate the outside deck and inside sound. i'm sure it's on the radar for yotel but since this is manhattan, there are many of loops that need to be jumped through.
more so, catching an after work big name dj would be a great idea, say an alexi delano, carlo lio, some of the blkmkt peeps would be an awesome fit for this type of party.
