No, they were harshly criticised and the manager may have been sent to a labour camp, but no one seems to have been executed. As for the engineers and scientists, I believe they are safe - should Kim Jong Un kill his few scientists, it would take too long for NK to recover from this educational suicide. However, as a Japanese expert said "[I]t is inevitable that they will look to find who is responsible for the failure, and I wonder what the treatment will be for those in the military and the hard-line officers who have pressed for the launch". Besides, bureaucrats can be replaced far more easily :( |
