I'm listening and loving the aggression so far after 10 minutes! Extremely promising.
As an aside, what's the deal with this night? Any plans for more? I'm based in London but would love to go to an event with some great trance/progressive played by talented (relative) unknowns. |

'Like' the Facebook page to find out about upcoming events. I also always post them in the events forum here.
It runs every other month on the second Friday. I set it up because I was playing at a lot of small nights that were really badly programmed and I thought I could do it better. Its basically all about diverse music and progression. I book people who play house, techno, trance, psy etc, and try to cater for everyone. There is always a good chunk of serious underground music along with more typical dancefloor friendly stuff.
It's been going for over a year now and its doing well. Im really glad to have a platform for people like Dave to play out :-) |

Cheers, I've liked.
Any plans to run a show in London town? |

None at present. Its tough enough getting people out of bed in my own city so I'm not sure how easily I could promote a night in London. Much as I would love to! Do you know any venues with good footfall so a few posters in the place would do the job? |

Thanks everyone for the kind words, really, it means a lot :)
Jon, have a look at these two...
The Raving Buddah in Shepherds Bush is pretty good in terms of location. Right on the high street and has a bit of a reputation now.
The Star Of Kings in Kings Cross is a little further out of the way (although not much) but does have a very cool basement.
Both have real ale on tap so clearly thats a plus :p |

Why aren't there any places like that where I live? :(
(Well, there are, but nobody cool comes and plays... except Tiger & Woods came last month but I never got to go :o) |

Personally, I don't think trance works in a bar context at all. If you're going to move the venue, it really needs to be a club.
By the way Dave, this was just as good listening through again at home. I'm still in awe of people who can play 2 or 3 minutes of a 7-8 minute track and then move on without it sounding ridiculous. For me it's a sign of top class DJing to eschew the designated mix in/out points and turn a track into your own tool. |

What about the psychedelic breaks of Mr. Dave King? :p |

| Breaks work better, but I still want to hear a set like this in some low-ceiling, grimey basement club. Besides, Entropy is Jon's night, not Dave's. |

I totally agree, unfortunately someone appears to have hacked the website while I was at lunch but the Star does have the perfect basement...
Its nowhere near as clean as that photo suggests either heh |
