i think he's a drama queen imo, i dont see the guy resigning/retiring from music until the day he dies, this is his life and he's not going to give it up. He's just hit a rough patch in life and trying to make some changes. we'll see him back soon.
hear hear !!!
good riddance i say. his constant whining on fb and twitter reminds me of perez hilton. youre a dj buddy for sake, get a grip !!!!

He's not coming accross as holier than thou. He's very expressive and totally genuine. Big ups to him for being true to himself and to his fans. I've made many travels to other countries to see him and I think many people will agree that he has some of the most loyal, die-hard, and long-standing fans in the EDM scene. He's always brought his game and you always knew you can expect a vibe found nowhere else at his gigs. I'm so very happy I made it out to BeB recently to catch him.
Take your time Danny, I'll be patiently waiting your return to the Temple !

Two of my favourite DT afterhours videos. Both taken at none other than stereo!!
1:52
No other DJ worked stereo's system as hard and meticulously as DT did.

I'm glad I got to see Tenaglia at WMC and Bal en Blanc in these past four weeks. I was saying to myself, "one day he's going to shut it down" and look what happened.
Although Tenaglia has been hit or miss in Toronto, he's created some magical nights for me in my party career. Pacha NYC, Boa 2004, WMC 2005, he's up there.
Tenaglia has been such a pioneer and influence in the scene. The guy hung around the Paradise Garage for god sakes, running around with Larry Levan. Right there, that's instant credibility. DJs play classics like it's nothing, the guy actually lived, partied and DJed when those songs were current. Think about that.
He's seen DJs come and go. He's outlasted Junior Vasquez when they were going neck and neck for supremacy in New York City (and North America by default). A long list of guys have faded to obscurity over the years, but himself, David Morales, Victor Calderone, Frankie Knuckles, etc are the few guys left from that NYC era/old school.
Sure he'll play again. But will it be with the same intensity? Or will it be to pay the bills. Me and my crew figured something was up when Tenaglia didn't play Stereo after Bal en Blanc, everyone just assumed he would - he just closed Canada's biggest party, people were looking for an after party, he was in Montreal, how could he not play? But obviously something was up...
lol amazing video! Danny's antics in a nutshell. He is so much fun to watch/listen to. Wish I had the chance to see him one more time.

I give it a year.
Even normal people take a break from working. I did! Someone with his tour schedule and the lengthy sets he does was bound to announce a sabbatical eventually.
breathesteve
It probably has something to do with his tinnitus.

seen a few people be really hard on him over facebook and other social media.
His life and health comes first and if he feels he needs a break mentally and physically, he is entitled to it. If he never plays again? so BE it.
We all don't want that to be true, but all beautiful things come to an end.
We will never forget Danny for what he has brought us. Pure Magic for 30+ years :)
