Trance Clubs in Shanghai?

What up all, i'm new to these forums... i used to hang out in the DI forums for awhile until i lost my DSL, until i move again it's going to be internet cafes for me.. bah.
Anyways... I'm moving to Shanghai, China tommorrow to hang out and look for a job, and i was wondering if anyone knew of any good trance clubs there? There are 18+ million ppl so i figure there MUST be some, and if there aren't, anyone interested in starting one? hehe.
I'm an American from Taipei and Trance exists but isn't so big here, plus this summer there have been major crackdowns so the clubs aren't safe anymore, even if you're just stoned. I went to Chengdu a week ago for my friends wedding and went to a club called Ka Ka Du (Cockadoo?) the DJ spun a mix of trance and dance/techno remixes of local pop songs, but it was still hella fun! If anyone has been to Shanghai or better yet is living there now holla at me!

umm...dunno about any clubs in shanghai...but tell us how it goes if u find some :D
dunno about taipei, but china's pretty strict on ...ie. the government likes to have control over just about everything, so i dunno what things r like...but prolly shanghai would be one of the more 'accessible' places i'd think
btw. kakadu is a national park in australia...nfi what a cockadoo is, unless it's something to do with cock-a-doodle-doo :)

Yeah Jdat 2F is a tight club... not always spinning trance but they got cool designs and every once and awhile a big name drops by. My only gripe about Taipei clubs is that most of them have systems because they are downtown and our zoning laws are hilarious you can have a residential building like right next to an office building 'n it's all mixed up. The club i went to in Chengdu though in pounded... so i'm pretty optimistic about China
anyways better bounce, dun wanna miss my flight
still searching for Shanghai clubbers!!

| only shanghai club i ever heard of was the rojam where oakenfold did his china essential mix. Dunno if it still exists. |

to keep things simple : I was just there for a holiday :p
mothers high school reunion ... she went to Morrison Academy in Taichung
concerning the whole zoning thing ... well yeah it's hillarious
there's a hotel right next to the club where I stayed for a couple days , Friend Hotel ( it's actually pretty good ) ... well at the 11th floor you could hear , the bass from the club! :crazy:
I found that pretty insane :toothless

| dude! i KNOW that friend's hotel thing that's right next to 2nd F! haha...but i can't say i've ever stayed there. i know kids who went to the morrison academy school in taichung. this is so weird...haha. but i went to the taipei american school though. |

All Taiwan TAs know the schools
you're like 4th 5th TA I talk to who's from over there ...
I know one who's in NYC know for school and he's in Taipei right now .... he's supposed to bring me some Bubble Gum Drink :)
if you know where I can buy that stuff online tell me .... cause I miss seven eleven at every corner of the street over there :haha:

| haha...i believe i know that one TA you are talking about who goes to nyu...granted..there may be more than one...but the one i kno is dj binkun. btw...he says hi and wuts up. as for the marble soda things...haha. i dun think you'll be able to find them online....but i think they have it in some places in japan too. i added u onto my aim list, if i see you i will def drop you a line. |
