hi all trance lovers, today i wanna introduce you really interesting results with my m-audio profire 610 card between my on board sound card (RealtekŪ ALC 887 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC), i have new asus P8H61-M LE Motherboard card and i use ableton live, with profire 610 i really get good sound , but the strange thing starts here, with my on board sound card i get the same good results, the details still shows 9216kb/sn, to be sure of that , i turned off the m audio and exported one of my work with asio v2 with this on board sound card , yes it gives the same good quality with my philips 2x125 watt reference monitors , now the things are:
1- No, i still cant use m-audio profire 610 with all capabilities..there are serious problem with me :)
2- M-audio profire 610 made in 2009 and now 2012, asus P8H61-M LE really has an ability to produce 192hz 24 bit stuff..
anybody could help me...i really appreciate your ideas... |

Changing audio interface does not affect the quality of the render if the track is 100% the same. Furthermore, no real questions asked. Not interesting results at all.
Onboard audio is just fine when you want to have some fun. As soon as you get ever so slightly more into getting good results you're better off with a seperate interface such as you have. |

So a sound card serves only to reduce/eliminate eventual latency? It doesn't affect the quality of the audio signal? |

In a bit more detail: A soundcard affects the quality of the audio signal going to your speakers, just as the signal coming from your microphone. It also affects latency.
Everything that happens inside your pc is not affected by the quality of the soundcard. Rendering doesn't use the soundcard itself (it's merely the processor calculating the music) so it does not effect the quality of the export at all. |

If your firewire soundcard isn't working currently or has occassional glitches that might solve the problem indeed. Otherwise it would be a waste of money. |

If you don't like the quality of the sound, getting another firewire device for your pc won't help. Firewire is just a medium that is used to communicate digital data and that does not affect sound quality. If sound quality is an issue for you you would need another soundcard. |

Hmmm...I have another question right now.
I'm using usb headphones, don't have any latency problems...still the exported audio isn't affected by those right? |
