Srsly, you Europeans need to get your heads out of your arses the US does it fine, the Canadian provincial system does it fine. Japanese prefectural system does it fine. Mexican states do it fine. All you are as a country is a "fiscal state" meant to scratch the backs of the others. You want to be patriotic to your country? Thats what SPORTS and CULTURE are for. Save your financial greed and crap for the grave, kthnx. What you europeans are hemming and hawing about is equivalent to the CA, FL, and LA financial crisies. Did we evict them from the union? Did they want to be evicted from the union? NO. Cause they KNOW financial statehood = better than its solitary system

there is a fundamental difference between the Eurozone and nation-states: the Eurozone members have an external central bank that and a monetary system that acts like a quasi gold standard. that is part of the problem currently.

I agree, shallow and pedantic.

Peasants discussing monetary issues is amusing.

Seriously, though, OP, are you trolling?
Lira
Do you really need to ask? :p

To the OP: Before the crisis began California had one of the largest economies in the world. They would benefit from a partition, I don't believe the union serves them any good. Now, the same cannot be said about FL.

I would love to rip him a new one on his well thought out views on global fiscal policies, but yeah......
