It's only short as I'm still working on a cohesive arrangement.
And soundcloud has smashed the e out of it as usual, so downlaods are on if you can be bothered.

I am jus not in worthy, damned that is sex on a stick with extra greens.
What the fuk did you get that sax outa?
TranceLover007
Man, you right now are like a machine G, track after track lol (or should I say ***teaser*** after ***teaser*** :D ).
If you could only finish some of then - you could make difference in Ambient genre ;)
Really like this short idea, really !!!!!

The trouble is as soon as I start one thing, I have ten more ideas :p
Rich, that's a Duduk from EWQL RA
Not a sax!

Wow again lovely tehlord, great middle east feel.
everything you touch turns to gold :eyespop:

wouldn't really call it a track but anyhow,
the way the instrument is played is kinda static. Add some mordents , try to accentuate the dissonances more especially at the cadences and give the melody a shape. the pad at the beginning sounds like you just bought omnisphere. It doesn't really fit. The high end and low end are over done. Start using tempo maps.
overall, kinda lazy. Try not to be part of that group of hacks that use a pad and a melody and just leave it at that and call everything they do epic.

wasn't this melody from blueman in his remix of armin's tuvan?

Well I have to admit it sounds similar as it's a similar timbre in the same key using the same scale. It's coincidental though and the actual melodies are totally different apart from the opening gambit.

See at the moment i'm a foreigner strolling round a strange land with a phrase book trying to understand the lingo. I reckon in another year or so i'll be able to put the phrase book away and start thinking in the language instead. I'll be doing about 2-3 sketches like this a week, most of which will never see the light of day but some will be turned into full tracks if I like the sound.
I hear what you're saying. The Duduk was played in live and a) I'm not a very good keyboardist any more and b) it's RA which has no legato and disastrous re-triggering. Yes, i'm partially blaming tools!
The pad is Omni, I'm going to use it as an ambience in the finished product, not a feature sound.

lolz point well made
it sounds to me like any other use of Duduk; very.. "ethnic" i love the sounds, and I love the arrangement, but I can't help thinking it sounds like the demos you get with "sounds of the middle east" type sample Cds..
this isn't a bad thing - deadmau5 Veldt sounds like a demo of some "out of africa" sample Cd - doesn't make it a bad tune in the slightest (the vocal does that!)
the key is what you do next to it, how you change it up and keep elements of the somewhat generic "ethnic" sounds as themes - that's what makes them non-generic (as in the case of blueman and the joel)
btw - this isn't negative criticism - it may read that way, but it's not intended as such, I just don't have the time right now to re word it so it doesn't cause offence! I think it has great potential
