For a perfect arrangement, energy should peak in the last third of the track.

These are all of the hand picked examples from my youtube favorites:

Classic trance arrangement that relies on the lead synth to create an energy shift for the big drop.

Added drone in the 2nd half jacks up the energy.

Song relies on mixing around parts and waiting until the end to play all of the parts at once.

Pjanoo riff is layered so the 2nd drop sounds bigger than the first.

Song adds an additional synth line during the second breakdown to peak the energy at the 2nd big drop.

Cool. I'll check them out.

that would be form, not arrangement. Arrangement is more orchestration. In terms of form, i would say the examples provided are not really what i would call anywhere close to great. Even Beethoven's 5th isn't really a masterpiece in terms of form. Tchaikovsky's was great with certain things, definitely not known as a composer with great form.

and the term perfect is sort of silly. Form can be intricate, complex to the point that one might say it is a masterpiece but i wouldn't ever use the term perfect.

Perhaps you could provide us with some proper examples of arrangement done very well, or form that you think is exceedingly good.

They all get the energy curve right. Most tracks climax too early... A lot of tracks start out big in the beginning, and then there's nowhere left to go.
