Yup, Artsacoustic is simply beautiful.
Another good recent reverb is Valhalla Room, and it's only $50. Don't be fooled by it's pricetag as it sound stunning. It's a little darker than AA, so I tend to use just those two now and unless you spend thousands you can file that combo under 'no need for hardware'. |

Ive been experimenting with algorithmic reverbs again recently (haven't tried the ones mentioned here though) and decided that i still prefer the sound of convolution like Waves IR1 on the whole
Soundtoys echoboy has some great reverb presets for super long textures though, surprisingly (for example Infinite space and echoboys galaxy) |

You could buy 2C Audio Perfect Storm bundle, which includes Aether, with the Integrity and Creativity expansions, and Breeze for $350, then add Valhalla Room for another $50 and you'd have 3 excellent reverbs still have $200 in your pocket.
As for hardware, if you're working primarily ITB, I wouldn't suggest going the hardware route in that price range. Cheap hardware units are no better than software in terms of algorithms and they often involve a lot of menu-diving, additional connections, added noise, have to bounce in real-time, etc. If you're talking a Bricasti, Eventide, or high-end Lexicon, then yeah, it might worth dealing with hardware. But, cheap hardware units aren't worth the trouble IMO.

I purchased MeldaProductions Creative Bundle last Christmas and was surprised to find out that it includes a multiband convolution reverb that supports true stereo.
So I've been using that now, with Samplcity's free Bricasti M7 Quad impulses.
You can't edit loaded impulses, but you can actually load two impulses per band, and blend or even modulate between the two. Insane!
I demoed ArtsAcoustic last night. I'm quite impressed by its warm and pleasant sound, but will it ever go 64-bit?
Going to demo Redline next.. but the demo licence isnt working. Oh and also only 32-bit atm.
I really want to demo the Lexicon PCMs but I don't have an iLok - but you don't have to get the whole bundle anymore. I just need a really great hall for classical music. |

I tried Flux VerbSession demo tonight but it's not working for me. I can see the input meters bouncing but the output meters show no signal. Wierd.
They've got this advanced audio positioning technology. Well Flux Spat has it. But the Flux Verb reverb is meant to be great, and adds a third component so you get early reflections > cluster > tail, where most reverb algos only have early reflections > tail.

I personally don't like Aether. Just can't get an organic clean sound out of it, it all sounds ringy.
I prefer Lexicon or VirSyn Reflect. |
