Gainesville? Trance scene? Same sentence!?!?!

Well, after years of sucking incredible amounts of assness in the feild of a decent music scene, it appears that Gainesville is attempting to redeem itself!
Simons, the club once world renowned for it's acts and atmosphere, fell off when the dumb asses in Tally decided that clubs should close at 2PM.
However, my confidence in my town has new hope after my outing this past Saturday night.
Simons appears to be trying to get back on top with it's "Rebirth" party on the 31st. It was rumored that PvD himself would be gracing this party, but that turned out to be bull. Instead Mara & Soundstream were booked. This may seem like a dissapointment, but if you knew what Gaineville has had to endure in the past, you'd understand my excitement.
If anyone from Simon's reads this, I'd like to personally congratulate them on the best show, in every element, to be in Gainesville in years. I had an incredible time, both before and after I got piss drunk :D hehehe.
Hopefully this will be the start of something new. Hopefully Gainesville will once again return to the ranks of decent entertainment. Hopefully I will stuble home from many more parties satisfied! |

oh and btw, the 2am here in tally wasn't the club owners, it was gay ass tallahassee police. "noise violations" or some gay like that. who knows :rolleyes:
simons used to book some good , i remember when ltj bukem came, but i didn't go, had other to do :( |

^^^lol, by the ass holes in Tally, I meant the legislature.
And I was a Gator, but after Saturday, I don't beleive it does any good to be a fan of anyone but Miami. I'd love to see FSU kill 'em, but no chance in hell, lol.
And Acosta (yes...THAT Acosta) is coming to The Palace (The old Florida Theatre) on October 11th. Anyone that would like to go can stay at my apt, it is about 6 blocks away from it. We can stumble home, hehehe.:D |

hahaha...that was such a good game. and you don't think we have a chance against um??? we do, but chris rix better be outta this world, cuz what he showed me against virginia was nothing! i hate chris rix. and we're gonna take revenge upon you punks this year too. the game is in doak this year, and you know what? its on my b-day! Blah, I'm not gonna start a UF/FSU battle. I'm not THAT big of a gator fan. lol.
Anyway, Simons found it rather pointless to have people like PvD & Diggers spin when they had to be cut off at 2AM. I mean, if you gonna pay enough to get those names here then you want them spinning longer than 2 hours. Not to mention Gainesville is still stuck in the "Oh, lets go to a club, listen to Nelly, grind on some girl's ass, and do the exact same thing next week" stage. (in' frat boys)
Anyway, hopefully we are starting to actually get some culture in this hell hole of a town.
And I can't wait for Acosta. You guys should all carpool up here. And seeing as how most of you can't get in to Sasha in ATL that night (21+) ya might as well see another nice show.
There is another DJ playing this Saturday at Simons (DJ Irie is on the roof, but a nice Trance DJ is in the main room) I'll let ya know who it is. Probally won't be worth the drive from Miami, but may be worth it from other places. |

i WOULD come down for acosta, but my g/f will be in town, and we're planning on going to miami that weekend. plus its the fsu-um game in miami that weekend. damn the month of oct! :p |
