Risers & Falls

Just about to finish of a project and put the risers and falls in. How much attention to detail do you's pay at this point?

For example i was thinking instead of using samples to make my own? The reason for this is because the i thought they would be more in sync/time with the track and that can only be a good thing?

Am i over analyzing things here?

Also what about effects? I've got the bottom end and left them uncompressed and not sidechained for this project. Should i set up a bus with reverb?

Thanks,

1. Just as much attention to detail as any other parts of a track.
2. Sure, why not.
3. No
4. What?

And since we're dealing in gerunds, wouldn't the correct conjugation of falls be fallers? (i.e. risers rise, hence fallers fall)

What do your ears tell you? This is a creative decision that we can't make for you, especially since we can't even hear what you're talking about.

Making your own risers are really fast and you can make it sync up with your track really well. I usually use square waves with delay, reverb, sidechain and maybe a phaser. Also make sure it doesn't conflict with some other mids such as pads or chords and if they are in stereo I would make my risers mono to minimize clutter.

I was under the impression that the gerund was the -ing, so wouldn't it be falling?
