I'm trying to cut down my body fat for the summer. Hoping to get down to about 8% or so. Currently at about 10%. Just wondering if anyone is on or has tried a vegan diet and is willing to share their experience and whether or not they think a vegan diet would give me that extra edge. I weight train and do cardio about 4-5 times a week and try to remain in a caloric deficit, but getting into that single digit bf range has been tough. Thanks to anyone willing to share :)

Weight training, cardio 4/5 times a week, and a vegan diet?
That sounds crazy.

I went vegan for 6 weeks and lost 25 pounds in that timeframe. It's not very sustainable though, unless you're prepared to make every meal yourself. Not too many diners or restaurants have vegan options.

I would reduce weight training and cardio if I start the vegan diet. Probably 2-3 times per week

Oh ok. Well, I could also settle for the lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, I suppose that would be more flexible and give me a bit more options. It's carbs that are my problem. Like seriously if I eat a piece of bread my abs are done! lol

Hey, I hear you, I really LOVE meats. Don't get me wrong, it's just I haven't been achieving my goals while meat is in my diet

lean meat and you should be fine. i.e. chicken breast and fish

Very true. When I was dieting, I stuck to fish (Basa being my favourite), turkey substitutes for whatever meat I was eating (f.e Turkey Meatloaf), and small boneless, skinless chicken breasts.

Hmmm...I have been eating these types of meat but still not in single digits of bf. I guess I could just cut my portions to half of what they were
