I've been working with this parody version of Madonna - Girl Gone Wild.
And now I would really like to get some fresh ears to tell me:
1. Are the vocals too loud/too quiete?
2. Are the kicks/drums breaking (clicking)?
And how to make it sound more professional?
I used Reason for the song and then I used GarageBand for the final compressor and some eq...
unless you are doing new disco where the vocals are like from the 80s synth pop movement, or rap, male vocals don't' work in EDM. THey might be ok, but a female will always be a better choice.
Don't bother trying to understand. Just take my word. I just don't want to have to explain something that will take a ing book.
Maybe things will be different in 10 years. Dance music is already effeminate. You will alienate way too many people by super imposing that sort of male vocal. It sounds like music for the homosexual community. Not to everyone, but to most. Females prefer female vocals, you are just going against statistics. Females also prefer vocals over males. It rarely works. talking sometimes, but singing, ,,,

No, I'm not a singer, and I don't even think I am. That's not the point.
After all, it's a parody version so not to be taken too seriously :D
But I still would like to know how to master/mix it more professional?
I would like to know how to prove the sound quality/make the sound more professional (kicks not too loud/too quiet and so on)?
J.L.
The vocals are just bad quality and the singing is not good. Fix that first. It sounds like someone singing out of a computer mic on an online game.
Next, the mix is just bad and before you even think about mastering, that needs to be addressed.
Work on the synths first. They are taking up too much space in the mix. Then fix up the percussion so it's not so repetitive.
My 2cents

If you made a drag queen YouTube video of this you would get millions of hits.

Haha :D
Well that's what I am going for, a drag queen parody video.
But I still would like the mastering sound even half way decent...
J.L gave a good tip, the synths are taking too much space. So I am trying to fix that a bit + trying to fix up the percussion (I noticed that maybe there's too much bass drum going on so trying to reduce that a bit).
And once again, the vocals are what they are, it's a parody version, not a commercial hit. As usual in parody versions the vocals are a bit...well... not so good. So please advice with the mixing/mastering, thanks :toothless

The more polished you try to make it the less funnier it is going to be on YT. It should look like a spontaneous clip that you filmed after an instant spark of creativity, which you then decided to share.
