| I'm gonna disagree with Znack here. I think the two scenarios he's so adamant on comparing are hugely different. While both exhibit what he refers to as victim blaming, the "she got what she deserved, that slut" case is far more extreme and obvious. While it's true that we don't have 'all the facts' in the case mentioned in this thread, to suggest that the victim didn't make a strange decision (note: I'm not attributing a single degree of fault here)is asinine. By any standard, his decision was odd in the very least. An inability to admit that is symptomatic of the liberal feel-good that we need a lot less of in this world. |

No one has mentioned anything about the victims "deserving" it.
In both examples its about focusing more on the victim's irresponsible actions than the crime itself. If you are going to disagree here, you have to completely change your argument.

Thats good. No one has. On the contrary, its only been said, in both examples the decisions were stupid, but its wrong to focus on the victim's stupidity of the crime. After all you can't do anything about being stupid and at least, it does not justifie an assault. |
