Guess in hindsight a lot of the principles that made TA the interesting place it was as being barely moderated and say what you want, have also served to slash its own throat as the douche bags where allowed carte blanc to also do what they want and driven away new users. |

There is a theory about successful things changing. I read an interview with the founder of a popular dating site (p.o.f. I believe) who maintained the same design for years. The theory is even small changes to something could have drastic unforeseen effects. I don't remember what the theory is called. It isn't the butterfly effect but maybe a specific variation for business or something, i think it was under game theory. Anyway, he was making 800,000 dollars a month working 10 minutes a day and saw changing anything about the site as being a possible liability to what was already a perfect situation.
I don't know how tranceaddict compares but this site seems to get good traffic and I imagine those ads when you enter the site aren't put up there as a public service. |
