I found a new buddy for my Trident 8T

Yesterday I sold my NEVE 8816 and got my CharterOak SCL-1

What they write is all true, very transparent and musical unit, perfect for on the master bus

Plenty of em and all analoque :D

when used well, this unit brings at least 6db gain without artifacts like distortion or pumping.

great compressor but don't really see why you would chose that for EDM mastering or any sort of music that isn't jazz/classical. I like shadowhills not just because the guy that runs it is a rocket scientist , wears buddy holy glasses but their stuff ain't too shabby.

to be honest , this constant adjustment and the need to tweet about it kinda gives the impression you aimlessly buy stuff instead of mastering your mastering setup. It doesn't really look good. It screams amateur. And since you are running a business, maybe that is not such a great thing.

you kinda have this robby rox approach. Total ADD. Do the research, chose, then get to work. An addition i would understand, but replacement suggests a bad purchase which suggests you don't really know what you want which again makes you look green.

Could you post an A/B comparison of track with and without it?

I always want to hear what the "analog difference" is but nobody(not even the manufacture) posts them.

the weiss mastering compressors are digital. And pretty much as good as it gets. Analog adds character, which seems rather ironic getting an analog tool that doesn't have character. Especially for EDM. An odd choice .

It's adding and upgrading where funds allow, really L4C all are in good and capable hands ;)btw your avg reply screams gender crisis/frustration.

It does something really nice with the sound presence wise and it can output really loud without artifacts, I've got enough colour boxes, this perfectly tops of the chain for gain staging before going back into the ADC. Or as you mentioned can be used for more transparent masterbus duties, not everthing I do is EDM either. Horses for courses LC4, Horses for courses........

I have a microphone that is worth more than your entire chain, I don't create stupid threads about it. I mean my sound interface is worth more than your entire chain. I also find the fact that you don't really know how to use any of it quite funny and pathetic which is why i rip on you.
