If this happened more than once, that's not cool. You have our word that moving forward issues such as this will be dealt with to the best of our abilities. Thanks for all the feedback guys, let's rock it on Canada Day!
One other thing to add: I was told by a few people who had to get in line after they went to use an ATM that their wristbands were cut off and they had to pay again. Not cool.
Fortunately this didn't happen to me. I ended up leaving to get something to eat down the street b/c no one would serve us at Keating Channel, despite asking for menus multiple times and the servers saying they'd be right with us. We were able to go back in right away when we came back, and did not have to pay again.

Totally not cool, and I'd like to apologize again for this. Security should have clearly explained the situation and it appears they did not. Of course, had the cash machine not run out of money this wouldn't have been such an issue, but the fact remains it did, so that's not good.
And I'd like to apologize for the lack of food service; the food at Keating really is great, but of course does you no good if you can't get any.
As it so happens we've just returned from a meeting with the manager at Keating to iron out these issues for Canada Day and all our parties there. So here's what you can count on for Canada Day:
Ins and Outs:
Anyone who buys an advanced ticket or pays at the door has guaranteed ins and outs all day and night. And we will have a separate entrance line for those returning to the party so that they needn't wait to get in upon return.
Food:
In addition to the venue's usual great menu, there will be a special outdoor food bbq area that will serve chicken souvlaki, burgers, sausages, corn on the hob, salads, and more. We're just waiting for final approval from the health inspectors to post up the finalized menu, so more info on that will be coming.
Bar:
There will be a sizable bar stationed outside alongside the food area so that you needn't return indoors to avail yourself of a cold one. Convenient!
Staffing:
There will be an additional 7 or 8 staff serving at the outdoor food and bar area.
With the added staff and bar and food areas outside, you'll have a choice of menus and twice as many staff as normal to serve everyone better.
Tonight I'm going to set my considerable Microsoft Paint skills to work this evening and draw up a schematic to give an idea of the layout.
Also, check your pms Lisa!

Thanks for the update Mike and cheers to the Bounce team for taking all of the compliments and criticisms well and improving on future events. The Bounce by the Lake parties are always, and continue to be some of my highlights of the summer. Can't wait for the next one!

Alright, so we've had a lot of people ask us about where everybody and everything is going to go, so I used my - ahem - impressive graphic skills to mock up the general layout for Canada Day.
The entire area is 19+ and licensed, so you can cart your drinks around wherever you like: :)

U dont usually expect super bangers at this type of party but the music was really boring that time (i was there only in the evening 9pm onwards), at some parts outright terrible. I also didnt like how now they put up a fence so now you cant go down to the river anymore and started charging $10 or whatever cover (and $8 beers). Prev years was better.

Save us some space and don't bother coming to the next. I'm sure there's a handful of places on Canada Day that'll cater more towards your taste of generic .

I'm really excited to play super non-boring music with my chum Rich Hope!
We might even play some non-terrible music.
We'll see.

Yeah, it sucks when you're listening from the parking lot eh?
All jokes aside, it honestly sounds like you picked the wrong jam for your mindset that night. No shame there though as that happens.
Personally, I stayed until midnight & loved every minute of it. I didn't mind the wait for beers even b/c I stuck to the 2:1 pitcher ratio axiom: order 2, when one is done paper-rock-scissor for who goes & gets the next 2. Always beer on the table, always rock solid tunes in the air, & a perfect party vibe in my soul.
Can't wait for Canada Day By the Lake!

bad news about the recordings. we dropped our recorder, and it looks like it ended up wiping all the sets. bah!
:(
That little recorder has had a tendancy to be forgotten in parties past; mostly due in part that we used to be the ones setting up and tearing down the sound; since AilenFlux has been doing it our poor little recroder has suffered a few unplugs in the middle of recording sets.
NO need to fear Canada Day will have all sets recorded, the Preacherman is always prepared to assist with this. :D
