Is modern trance music that is being produced being rushed just for the money or is trance better then ever? Your opinions please

Both I think,
You'll always have the people that just want too make money out of the genre. :whip:
But there have also been a lot of good trance releases recently :)
I wouldn't say the trance sound of 2002 i better than the previous ones, it's unique, like the other "styles" of trancemusic.

Nah ... if you're in the business of making quick and dirty rushed, derivative sounding songs to make a buck, you go write songs for Britney Spears or Shakira. The trance industry is worth peanuts compared to pop, and I think trance listeners on the whole are also more discerning and won't go buy a record just because it's made by a certain artist. This whole board is a good example, we are all so quick to slag off on a famous producer if they make a weak track, you just wouldn't see that on a Backstreet Boys fan site.

There's more trance out there now because the advent of entirely PC based production and software like Reason, has given everyone the ability to make polished-sounding trance on their home computer. Doesn't mean that people actually have the gift of writing a good song though.

I think trance is getting better and better. But then again there's also more crap coming out, so i think its kind of even.

the question should be "are the producers taking more time to sit down and actually WRITE good creative songs"
to that, i say no. listen closely and you will see.
as for trance being better than ever, technically it is. sound and musical technology has improved alot in 5 years, and new effects and sounds are being used all the time.
