I had a great time. Carl was bangin. The main room was exploding with, oh yes oh yes, an insane amount of energy. Sound was not good at all, earplugs were my life saver.
Headed over to Kool Haus when Armin finished because whoever the heck it was again that followed Carl was terrible imo. Armin was slamming hard in the Kool Haus as well up until he finished. Good little trance fix. Kool Haus was a SAUNA though - wow.
Felt like an old school night out with the old crew again. Antics. Smiles. Dancing. :)

100% accuracy. we needed more cox. wen romero came on the IMO the sound quality went even worse, it was actually painful to stand in the room ontop of the worst music ive ever heard in my life (would rather listen to drive @5 with danny d)

solid long weekend party!
we were lucky to get in in about 10 min. they opened the guv ticket line right when we got there so we were the 2nd group in line! 2 minutes after the line opened i turned around it was wrapped around the building! :eyes:
main room was pretty empty at 11:30 but cassy was warming the room up really nicely. percussive groovy tech which progressed into techno, wound it back down and then laid it down hard again. she had a magda meets moudaber sound (bouncy with drummy tech). what a set up for carl cox!
cassy played until 2am. carl came on and played very energetic as usual. i would rate his downsview set as a bit better. a few tracks that his set could've done without but other than that he dropped some hard .
i ventured to the KH for a bit to check out armin during cox's set but it was so packed in there i had to leave after 5min. it was a good 10*C hotter in the KH. i wonder how many people dehydrated in there lol. could not enjoy myself in there!
one thing i have to comment on is how bad the sound in the main room was. the highs (treble) was way too high and ear piercing. sound techs really need to get their together. i'm paying $50 for this party and sound quality is something i'm really looking out for. that was a fail in my book. i want to be at a party and not have to think "i wish i brought my ear plugs in". they didn't even have any at the concession stand for sale!
the end of armin's set was pretty good, i was surprised he still had it in him! as soon as armin got off i swear half of the people left KH. it was the quickest departure of people i've ever witnessed. almost like a really calm fire escape haha
JoC came on, floor opened up and the next 1.5hrs was really solid tech/trance!
i thought chroma was really neat actually, it has a nice layout and the dj booth is dope!
skybar had some really nice renovations. "Miami patio" seats and cushions, sound quality was good too. wish i spent a bit more time up there but the music inside was really good throughout the night!

Agree with all the reviews in here. Couple things as well:
1. Armin apparently gave a shootout to TranceAddict? As in the TA forums? Did anyone hear this?
2. Technical difficulties when Carl started sucked. I knew something was up when one of Cassy's last songs wasn't mixed in properly - like not even close. Then the sound cut out when Carl got on. Then it started back up and cut in and out 4-5 times, then stopped completely again. Killed any flow from Cassy's set. Then Carl got on the mic and said "I'll make sure guys have a ing good time tonight" LOL -- he is a man of his word!
3. Skybar was closed at 3 AM? Does it always close that early?

Correct. Here's the GUV tweet when it happened: TRANCEADDICT TWEET I had just put away my camera when he said that & I kicked myself for not capturing it for Del.

Carl Cox was nice and i did enjoy his downsview set a bit more.
Armin killed it tho, as hot as KH got it didnt matter. It was a killer set.

Stayed 90% in Guvvy for Cox. It was great and banging, glad I never made it to KH considering the madness that it was apparently. Had fun overall.

i had an awesome time. I spent just about all my night in Koolhaus. My only regret is not seeing any of Carl Cox's set. I'll have to catch him another time. I thought Armin killed it. He played a lot of great tracks. I enjoyed his set much more than I did back in April in Londom, probably due to it being a much better crowd at Koolhaus instead of a bunch of Western kids....no offense. I love when he started playing the faster tracks, always my favourite part of his sets. I stayed for all of John O'Callaghan's set which was unreal. All 140 bpm trance. He opened with the new track from PVD and Ummet Ozcan "Dae Yor". I enjoyed his entire set.... So much energy. It must have been hard going on after Armin soo late. He really had to bring it right away. Koolhaus emptied so quickly, but whoever stayed got a treat. JOCs set was probably the highlight of my night. There is nothing i would rather hear at 5am then 140 bpm trance. He absolutely killed it. I feel like they cut his set short... I would have thought he would play until 730 or 8 which would have been insane. He only played until 6... oh well. Unbelievable Night. I had a blast.
