Any EDM options in Tampa Bay area?

NYC TA asking for help :) Looks like i may be spending a lot of time in the area - can someone school on what (if any) edm venues/clubs/events goes on here?
Someone here told me that there are a bit of a tech underground scene in st pete and 'regular' clubs in tampa?
Any help much appreciated! |

| ^^ I actually know a few people going to SMF today. Not too much edm venues in the Tampa and St Pete area. The most common one that I know of that does good events is the AMP Link. Hope this helps a little :) |

Tampa Venues for EDM:
Amp - special events of all genres
Jacksons - mostly House and Tech House/ Techno
Hard Rock - House
Hyde Park Cafe - House, Tech, Minimal
Kennedy - House
Social Club - Dub, Breaks, House, and Trance (once in a while)
Tabu - edm
Hawaiian Village - special events all genres
someone else can help with you out St. Pete info. I don't go there for clubbing |

| Amp is a dump. Save your money. The only place worth going to for a fun night is the Venue (or Tampa V...whatever its called now). Unfortunately, they seem to have fallen off the trance map since Amp reopened. A shame though because they put on a great show for the money. Orlando has more of an EDM scene than Tampa from what I've heard. Good thing too is that's only an hour away. |

| Your right the Amp is a dump and sound system sucks, but they do bring in some good talent. That's only time I go to Tampa for the most part. |

| There are 8 events listed on the FL events list page...above & beyond is the next good show on the 31st @ Amp. Check the events list. |

The last time I went there was the first time Markus Schulz was in. Even he was knocking the dirty glass ball and half the room went dark and silent three times before they rewired the stage. The cryogenics were like an asthmatic blowing through a straw. Tampa really needs a great, universal venue that can cater to just about every genre and still deliver a great show. Ooohh the bad things I would do for the Amnesia owners to open a scaled-down version of Amnesia Miami here. LOL |
