GRIDMODE | www.gridmode.ca

Driven to weave style into sound, Toronto-based electronic music producers Guyvr and Mason Bach have united as Gridmode to deliver an all out assault on the dancefloor, by exploiting the latest computer music technologies and delivering them with an ear-to-the-ground mentality. Always consistent in their approach yet full of surprises, Gridmode invites their listeners to engage in a co-creative exploration of sound that never strays from an uncompromising dedication to their art.

While deeply rooted and educated in the craft of live music performance, Gridmode has transplanted core elements from studio production directly to the live stage, pushing and perfecting technical boundaries in real-time. This talented duo flawlessly combine the most current selections from the minimal, tech-house and techno genres with grace and highly discriminating taste.

Although audiences unanimously agree on their intuitive musical sense and applaud the almost rocket science behind their rhythms and compositions, Gridmode sources only the purest of dancefloor pursuits which results in an experience which must be witnessed first-hand to fully embrace.

AMBER LONG | www.soundcloud.com/amberlong

“If it were possible to make her a new word in the Urban Dictionary, Amber Long would be defined as such: Amber Long adj: driven, persistent, dreaming. (1) To do something that would inspire someone. (2) To go big or go home. (3) to revitalize..." - Indie Seen, Echo Weekly Magazine

In a relatively short time, Long’s career smashed into over-drive, including 6 Sonic Boom Awards for CKMS Radio 100.3 FM, 2 nominations at the Toronto Independent Music Awards, and performances that have scaled across North America – as far as New York City, Boston, Chicago and now, this year, Miami. She has four, full length albums under her belt, as well as being an established Beatport/Traxsource/Juno Download artist.

Currently Amber collaborates on a regular basis with International Producers, as well as local Producers from Toronto. She releases her own style of music and is available for vocal and remixing opportunities.

Amber adds DJ her extensive resume, constantly honing her craft. She plays regularly throughout the Toronto area, showcasing her own productions, as well as those with whom she works.

SCOTT TOTEM | www.soundcloud.com/scott_totem

Of all the varied attempts at describing his sound, Scott Totem has been named funky, soulful, shuffly, deep, minimal, raw and adventurous, but without question, the essence of this artists' work can be most accurately defined as 'abstract'. Weaving between styles without concern so much for a song's genre, he is seemingly more interested in using the raw sounds within each track like an oil painter uses a pallet knife to smear shapes, colours and transitions across a canvas. He was a devoted painter himself, before he hurriedly cast away the paintbrush in exchange for turntables and a mixer after attending his first Toronto rave. It was his dissatisfaction with the static visual artform that pushed him towards viewing music as the ultimate form of expression and the most direct exploration of the intangible. Behind the decks he is evidently unafraid to take stylistic and technical risks. His mixes are bold, persistent and musical. Tribal flourishes, slicing techno beats, guttural synths and primal sounds, the Scott Totem signature sound is complex and rhythmic but unmistakably groovy.
