I had to do some research afterwards to put the pieces together. It makes sense I guess, but yeah, they were baiting hard for a third season with that ending, just didn't get it.

ABC totally jerked the show around by changing it's schedule, moving it to Saturday nights eventually which killed off a lot of its following. People didn't have DVR then, obviously, and their target audience wasn't the type to sit at home on a weekend to watch it. When they saw a dip in viewers, ABC gave them very short notice to wrap it up. Lynch has been very forthcoming about his frustration with them, and it showed in how it was wrapped up.
I used to stand next to the TV and hold the antennae just to get reception sometimes. I lived for that show. Been meaning to find my autographed copy of Frank Silva (Bob) and frame it. Still the scariest character in television I've ever seen by a mile.

I've never watched the whole series. Was too young to get into it when it aired. But I did watch the last episode on tv, since there had been so much hype for the show. Last scene gave me nightmares, was so weird. I dunno, maybe someday I'll try to watch it from the beginning.
Wow Bob Wow :conf:

Just found a continuous fan based edit of the show on youtube. I don't think it's both seasons, but it's def long enough to see the first five or six episodes edited as if it were one long movie.
EDIT: Looks like they rearranged the ending to have it make more sense and get rid of the unresolved cliffhanger. But the majority of it still looks legit.
One of my favorite shows ever.
Thinking about it these days just makes me sad, however. Because I can't imagine current TV showing something this weird, unconventional and daring. No one would ever put a dancing dwarf who talks backwards on TV now, and it makes me sad.
Also, they should obviously not have revealed the killer. And Cooper should have gotten together with Audrey.

When did TV air anything this weird, unconventional and daring before Twin Peaks?
Never.
It was a one off that we were lucky to have. I would say that TV is bolder now and more open than ever before (excepting for TP of course). Maybe not on networks, but you can find it if you want to.

I don't know how many other people out there had this experience with Twin Peaks, but the overall flow of the episodes got me zoned out to a point where following the plot closely never felt like a mandatory thing. So I just soaked in the vibezzzz for most part, which were nice enough that by the time I got about episode 10 and had enough, I stopped watching without ever really wondering about how it all ended.
I prefer Blue Velvet. Baby wants to !

I love david lynch stuff so I'll have to check this out.

Lynch can be a little much for me sometimes. I think TP really benefitted from Mark Frost balancing him out.
