Label Help Wanted

As someone who over the last few years has changed genres multiple times in the studio and lost track of a lot of old contacts I am looking for help regarding current up and coming labels to approach remix work for, obviously as I am looking to build a portfolio I would not be looking to receive any financial gain.
If it helps (this isn't a shameless plug) my most recent remix work is on my soundcloud www.soundcloud.com/andrewdring I have played with two tracks to hone my production skills of late, Rob Dougans - Clubbed To Death and on a less serious level Dario Gs - Sunchyme. If anyone knows of any labels who are looking to work with new producers or in my case those trying to reestablish themselves I would be grateful if anyone could make them known to me. Many thanks, Andrew |

| That 3rd track on your page is a barely altered Patterson tune. |

| Yeah this is a mash up which is why I've avoided mentioning it in the above post, thanks for taking time to listen though. |

I barely know the scene at all these days, I just produce what I used to love but it must be close to a year since I went onto the likes of audiojelly or tid. It's amazing how quickly you can lose touch, I used to produce hard dance and had a few releases from 2005 - 2007 since then I've gone back to the drawing board so many times, but now I feel I'm at a good technical level and can have another attempt at working within the industry.
I was just hoping with this being one of the biggest and as far as I can remember one of the oldest trance communities a few users here may be able to point me in the right direction so I can get things moving again.
It's not a huge issue if there aren't many answers on here, just didn't think it would hurt to ask. |

let them approach you. Any label that will actually do something will seek you out. So if you need an ego stroke, then ya, this advice is not going to help. If you want to actually do something more, then work on your music, your networking so that there is a buzz about your music and a following. Without that, nobody is going to care. UNless someone close to a big label vets you.
this is a pretty simple thing that has happened in the last few years. Label hunting is just not what you do. There is no point. Except to serve ones ego as you will seek out a so so label and you will get a credit in beatport. But you won't be selling anything, and the release is largely for show. |

Then you really shouldn't be trying to pass it off as your own work, as that's the way it looks on your SC page. |

Thanks for the advice I tried a year or so ago but half of the labels I approached had actually closed down!
Genuinely not an ego stroke I'm looking for I just need some motivation to carry on the work I've started so working along side a label where someone was depending on me doing the work would be just what I need, I would also offer free remix work to users of this forum if they so wished as mentioned I would just like to build a small portfolio and carry on improving. I've got my self to this point a few times stopped and started all over again, I'd just like to make sure this time my efforts weren't wasted. |

a label for the most part, is superficial. Your time and efforts are more wasted in that you lose the potential to do something useless with it. MAke a website, do tutorials, create a following. This is the best way lacking an in to get a label interested.I just don't get why you are so interested in a label that really will do nothing for you. What do you get out of it. |
