A more simple one (that you'll enjoy, Stu): absentmindedly wandering from one place to the next on my campus with headphones on, and seeing a hummingbird, or a few humminbirds, dart across my path. It happens all the time (they're quite common here in socal I believe, and my campus has fantastic foliage, which they seem to enjoy) and I can't help but stop and stare. Other ppl walking think I have two heads, but they're so beautiful ! |
Haha yes, nice :D I'm jealous! No hummingbirds in AU.
I know exactly what you mean, though not with hummingbirds. Many other birds though. I didn't want to do the bird thing here, because it would be too obvious for me :p |

| It's a shame you don't have 'em in AUS. Few of my bird-experiences match up to those I've had with hummingbirds. If you're lucky enough to see 2 of them (or even more!) it's just so nice. They'll soar past you, flutter in front of a flower on a bush, and then dart into the bush. You lose 'em for a second and then one flies out...right away the second one gives chase. Your jaw drops: "man, that one hummingbird is totally gonna make sweet, sweet love to the other one" |

I really enjoy playing music for drunk jerks on the TA radio :gsmile:
also those first 15 minutes laying on the bed after a nice workout and a shower are priceless :) |

That moment, when you have some skin peeling away at the corner of your fingernail... and you rip it right off, no pain, no blood.

| That (name of thread) is the exact phrase i used about 7 hours ago (well exact phrase if we dont count the fact that i said it in slovenian not english) when sharing an order of fries with a friend outside of a club. She kind of hit me with a lot of very depressing stuff during the night but for a few minutes the crap that was bothering us was forgotten and we just enjoyed the food. And thats when it hit me and i said the thread title out loud...sharing a meal with a good friend is indeed one of lifes simple pleasures. |

Penises can too, but I can't post about mine in this thread.
It's supposed to be about little, simple pleasures :o |
You can talk about mine then. I'm 6'5 and have size 13 feet...sadly the old folk tale is not true. |

That moment of silence in a cafe, on a hot summer day, when you and your friends just sit back, relax and take in the atmosphere. There's just something so amazing about it. You're literally just sitting there but it feels amazing. I find it's such a Mediterranean thing, I can't replicate it very often down here.
Another is when you get to the very top of a hill or any sort of high vantage point. Look out across the world and for the moment you're there, it feels like there's no issues to deal with. Just you in the moment. |

that epic moment when it seems as though all of your life was just a prelude towards that one moment where you insult someone cause they set themselves up perfectly for a smackdown, and as soon as you read their comment that set themselves up, the idea of the smackdown is flashing in your head like you just won the lottery, and immortality.
then you proceed to mentally rape the OP without mercy, and glorify your position of immortality in the hall of fame of distribution of complete ownage. |
