This track was more of an experiment to attempt to master a track.

Once concern was the bass layering. Effective or not? Too muddy? How can i fix this?

It's style is psy/tech-trance.

(It's not fully complete, i.e. build up, effects etc)

Thank in advance

I'm no expert but it sounds decent to me at least on small pc speakers.

Just 1 crit, the open hat in the early into is a bit GM unspecial, otherwise decent sonix mate.

Cheers Richard!

After listening for the 400th time i think i may not have compressed that bass enough ...
Any comments?!

agree... compress the bass more. check the bass sidechaining with the kick.

Eq the kick more as well. cut off anything below 40hz. same for the bass. u can't hear these frequencies anyway. add some eq onto the kick at about 150hz and take out some of the 200-500 range, and then fiddle with the top end of it eq wise till u get a low and mid sound.

also cut off anything above 20khz at the top. u can't hear this either and it can make hats sounds too hissy.

from the picture of the waveform you've exported this and run it through a compression programme as well. t racks or something along those lines.

before exporting from whatever programme you're using make sure nothing is clipping. programmes can remove them, but i always make sure nothing is first. u can always boost the overall volume on final post export compression mastering anyway, so better to keep the sounds clean and the boost the overall volume (in my opinion)

its not far off at all though. just some fine tuning required.

Thanks for your comments.

I started messing around with it and have ended up making a psytrance reconstruction ...

Thoughts?
