It's not exclusively cheese but ok this is what I'm trying to say: When EDM made it to Europe the radio stations were playing the music that was just coming out as is by the djs, it wasn't commerically watered down it wasn't corporatized etc etc (for a lot of it anyway), and the corporations just took it and made it available without relatively large changes.
In the US I think it's the reverse, the corps have a huge influence and quality music isn't as prevalent in these huge festivals etc. I agree w this article...
Also guetta saying this: “That spirit of wanting to keep this only for ourselves; and anything that’s successful is bad. That culture that goes in a cycle where everybody loves someone and they’re all talking about him, and then in one second, because he’s successful, ‘Ah, him, he’s bull!’ What? But you were saying the same guy was a genius last year, now he’s the worst person?”
is utter BS because why can't you have quality music and have it be popular without it being ??? It was popular in other places and was still relatively decent before it came to the US.
It's because the corps are worried that if it's originally true to what the artist meant it to be (like carl cox, farina, etc etc etc) then people won't like it and they won't make money.
That's NOT what it should be about. Artists should just do what they do, if it becomes popular great, if not, em. So what if the majority of the population can't understand how a set should be built from scratch, it should go somewhere and mean something ALONG with having a good time, getting drunk and so on.

Americans endorsed that cheesey Euro sound, to hide, & water down the real European sound that was forming at the time.
2 Unlimited is not electronic music, they are a bad version of Techno music, which is black music from Detroit. For you to say that shows your ignorance. What is next you are going to say BG The Price Of Rap is the best mc? Or Haddaway is the best singer?

To be fair I'm sure Europe did have some cheesier stuff as well at the time.
I think the EDM though was just embraced and distributed rather than changed and watered down then distributed like in North AM.

That song was not "Edm", it was called "Techno", but it was not Techno either, because Techno is black music from Detroit, that was inspired by real electronic music. 2Unlimited is not European electronic music, they are "EDM" tho, becaiuse they are a not the real thing. Electronic music has a history, it didn't start yesterday, or in the USA, they just try to market it that way.

What is funny?
I know that someone like yourself does not not know about music, so it might shock you to learn that what I said is factual. If you knew about electronic music you would know that, unless you are some guy who is a wannabee dj, & producer, who wears sunglasses in the cues, & gets his styling cues from PaulyD.

I do not know why it is irrelvent to say the truth. My statement is factual, so is me saying that Techno is a sub genre of Electronic music, but it is not Electronic music, since that is European music.
