I don't know. Maybe if he played more house. My generation is taking over everything, though. A lot of these older guys are gonna be the Sasha's and Digweed's of tomorrow.
edit: As a producer I think he's been pretty much done with trying to make big tracks. He's just gonna do whatever he wants to do in the studio and that's it. Some people are gonna like it some people are gonna hate it. I don't think he'll ever put out a record like "Frank Mueller Melodram" or make hits like Dexter, again.

Its astonishing to look at the discogs stats for a new sasha record. It will have 10 or 20 owners, then you pick some ty techno/house release on Clone Basement and it will have 150 owners.
I'm just agreeing and citing some evidence that sasha and digweed are definitely on their way out when it comes to productions. People just arent interested in what they are producing, but will show up in hoards to hear them dj.

I've never heard Villalobos play live, but from the sets I've heard, he does know how to bring forward some mighty interesting sets. I stand for what I said regarding his productions though.

Comparing him to Nico Jaar is really not the case though. They come from two completely different scenes and generations. Villalobo's stuff isn't even close to being the hipster jizz-oasis Jaar's stuff is. From interviews I'd say his demeanor is also much different. He actually seems like a genuine and down to earth guy, humbled by and passionate about his job.

I'm not doubting that he's more of a down to earth guy than Jaar, but his music is just as pretentious.
