Virus KC broke

I don't know what happened. But after quite some time I decided to turn on my Virus but it just wouldn't. (Yes it is plugged in).

I've been testing out some stuff. The AC convertor is fine and puts out a solid 12V. No sound, no midi response to keypress, lights and screen won't light up.

Haven't found any strange looking marks in the circuitry, condensators look just fine. I'm guessing it is a bad connection somewhere near the 12V source that decided to screw me over, otherwise some parts might have still worked.

Anyway, I feel pretty sad about this and was wondering if anyone might have any other tips I could try before sending it off to some expensive repairman for some proper servicing. Money is a bit tight right now as I've cut down my working hours so I can graduate in a couple of weeks, so I'd rather fix it miself like i did with a non-responsive key it had when I bought it.

Tips, thoughts, anyone?

If you can, disconnect the DC power from the main PCB, then use a multimeter to see if the circuit from the + and - connections closes ok. If not, try smaller zones across the board to narrow down where the failed joint or component is.

, I should've known to do so. Returned the borrowed multimeter yesterday and noone close to me has one. Bummer. I guess I'll wait it out until I can borrow the multimeter again next week.

Forgot to say thank you.

A basic multimeter is ~$10 at your nearest Tandy, Radio Shack or similar.
