House tracks/producers similar to Theo Parrish?

His tracks like Ebonics, Command Your Soul, remix of DJ Kent and most of the stuff he made has been really doing it for me lately. Any suggestions on which other house/deep house producers or labels out there that I should turn to for house music that's more "far-out" and raw sounding, like it was scraped off the pavement? I know Moodymann of course, then some stuff from Glenn Underground and Motor City Drum Ensemble I dig as well, though I don't find it to be all that similar. It doesn't necessarily have to be from Detroit or Chicago.

I know exactly what you mean, and by all means you should check this entire label. If you are short on time, specifically hone in on the Prostitune and Jouem records.

Good topic. In the spirit of sharing knowledge, here are a few nuggets for you:

Have you heard the '3 Chairs' project that has KDJ, Theo and Rick Wilhite? A few cool things in that vein on the album.

A track from this EP called 'Lost Tracks From Detroit' on STILOVE4MUSIC called "Can You Feel Me" is totally in this feel.... (also Rick Wilhite)

Some of the stuff on Golf Channel can do that here and there... like certain tracks by DJ Nature. "Everyone" or "This Side Of Heaven" for example.

Also Floating Points "Shark Chase" fits fine in this kind of vibe.

The main cut on this weird release called Underground Vol. 1 Detroit is also totally like this.

Some of the releases on the first five Workshop 12" also, like stuff by Kassem Mosse. You'll need to go through them.

Dig through Omar S' discography, definitely some bits you could use.

I would think a few of Ron Trent's recent productions have this kind of sound as well.

More on the far-out tip, try an album called 'Black Buildings' by Detroit Escalator Company. It's not so much house, but has incredible things on there and some of which would not be out of place in this sort of vibe if used creatively.

Lastly, you may want to listen to something called "Keep Her Keen" #20A .. if you can find it. Very bugged-out.

Marcellus Pittman > Rick Wilhite

edit:

Rick never made anything close to this imo.

Thanks a lot, guys. Yes, Omar S, 3 Chairs and Pittman are all tops, but need to explore the catalogues of all three more. Will check the rest out as well!
