Charles himself posted this on toronto nightclub.com concerning the Summers End Festival:
I would like to personally address concerns regarding the Labour Of Love party this past Sunday, September 1, 2002. An over abundance of people attended the event, much to our surprise. For most clubs and promoters this is a dream come true, for us - we had a nightmare on our hands.
The entire evening was dedicated to working crowd control and keeping everyone safe and walkways clear. This effected people who chose to walk around and see the various rooms and Dj's. As most of you witnessed this job was not an easy one. In total we had on staff 45 in-house security, 25 outside security and 10 Metro Police Officers along with 2 medic’s. We were overwhelmed at the amount of people who just kept coming. Most begged admittance even after waiting in line for an extended period of time.(some over 2 hours) Attempting to accommodate everyone I personally heard every excuse in the book “It’s my birthday”, “Half my group is already inside”, “My Girlfriend already went in” and on and on. Even after informing people that they would probably not get in. We are in the process of completing a door count and have over 500 fraudulent tickets unaccounted for, which in turn increases the volume.
The line-ups were unavoidable, we only allow so many people in the building at one time. Searching is also mandatory for each patron, this slows down the door but I think you’ll all agree that it is necessary for everyone’s safety. For these reasons we utilized the parking lot outside and offered complimentary music and entertainment for everyone.
I would like to personally apologize if you found your experience here on Sunday less than positive. Please except my invitation for you and a guest to attend a show or event of your choice over the next 3 months.
Sincerely
Charles Khabouth

| I got the same message. It's nice that they take the time to reply but it just sounds like a lot of lame excuses. I guess all we can ask for is that they learn from their experience. |

He's a buisness man, and obviously he is not an idiot. So like any buisness man would do that works with the public, he wrote that for PR reasons so his Company/Club dosen't look like a bunch of s. If you were there that night, it wasn't the best getting pushed around every two seconds.....Is that fun? Not for me.
Personally I just don't understand why he just didn't say he simply ed up, and say he will review his ticket sale policy so it dosen't happen again. |

| I don't undestand what he is saying! Is he saying that they let so many people in because of people's lame excuses? that doesn't make any sense. If a club is full, it's full. No lame excuses should get a person into a club in this case. He also mentions 500 fake tickets. Bull ! Club was overpacked by WAY WAY more than 500 people ! |

| Do you really think he cares? Do you really think it will not be repeated? He simply said all that crap because he wanted to keep his status high as a businessman and his reputation well. He knows what works the best for him and his wallet.. and the overcrowding does not bother him as much, nor do the complaints because he knows that, as long as he keeps the DJs coming, he will have customers that don't mind the crowds and a few line-ups to hear them. |

BULL!!!
I will belive ther were 500 fake tickets when I SEE THEM! I, myself, live by a policy that "what I personally see is the truth" kind fo thing. I have not sen 55 fake tickests so I don;t beleive it. He has nothing to back that up with. NOTHING. So there is 1. "F*ck you" to the owner.
Second.

What the does that mean? for the next three motnhs Guv events are free?! That statement does NOT give me my money back nor does it make me trust Guv any more than I do now. wha he is saying is "come back soon plz". It does not say "the next event is on us" and if it is where is the contact info? Is there gonna be another huge linup for the "next event in three months" or something? Seriously. I find this "message" not at all comforting or relieving. It is just plain old BULL!.:whip: |

| Notice how the letter is written. It's written in such a way that portrays Guvernment as a victim! him ! The only victims of this ordeal were us - customers! It was in his power to prevent all that from happening. |

! This guy is an idiot ! He is surprised that people are gonna beg for admittance after waiting for 2 hours ! What did he expect? That people would wait for 2 hours and then silently go hom ! Stupid idiot ! |

I agree with all the TA's on this one. It is obvious that the only reason he made a public statement was to bring his customers back.
It is obvious that the overcrowding that night was deliberate and intended. He made his money and that all he really cares about.
Remember people he offered free events to the people on toronto night club.com not on tranceaddict, which in itself is bull. Even if he offered me one year of free events it would not erase from my memory what I experienced that night.
Guvernment is in the black book, end of story. |

Yeah I totally agree with you guys
So what if he will let a couple of people in for free for the next event , is that gonna make people come back and forget about everything(Don't Think So), this situation happened already before the Guv,
The Guv will lose people if this will happen more often, but in reality they will still have enough people coming in to make money
ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY $$$$$ |

Without a full boycott of Guv; which seems unlikely; all of our complaints; are a waste of breath really.
Unless real steps are taken to bring attention to Officials that haven't already been bought-out; with respect to 'regard for human life' or lack thereof, I suspect many of us will return; due to our love of trance. Have we not seen what can happen and does happen all around the world; when clubs get over-crowded and fires break out?
It shouldn't be this way.
Peace
