As the day draws closer to Ferry's arrival in Oz (less than 2 months now), I was wondering if anybody here has his set from Adelaide last year? I know there is a user on oldominion.kicks-ass.net who has it, but unfortunately DC won't let me download it off him. Anyway, the reason why I'm so eager to get this set is cause I was there. Here's some more info if it helps, I think it was broadcast on "grooveradio" ...
Ferry Corsten - Ministry of Sound Session (Oct 26-01)
01. 00:00 Konkrete - Law Unto Myself
02. 04:53 Carrisa Mondavi - Solid Ground (Fade vocal mix)
03. 12:25 Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Instrumental)
04. 19:36 Iio - Rapture (Riva Mix)
05. 23:07 D.H.S. - The House of God (Azzido Da Bass Remix)
06. 27:02 Funk Einsatz - Punk
07. 33:40 Ransom - My Dance (Ferry Corsten Remix)
08. 38:21 Ultra - Free (Airscape Remix)
09. 46:26 System F - Dance Valley Theme 2001
[That info was from beam.to/djsets and the set was broadcast live from St Paul's, Adelaide]
I'm pretty certain that this ain't the full set cause I could swear he dropped in carte blanche, the legacy, Clear blue water and ended with Tenshi.
P.S. Did anyone from the board go along? |

| same story with the sydney gig.. this is because MoS radio didnt broadcast the entire set and that tracklisting is only what they recorded |

Dowlz, the set from 26-10-01 was NOT broadcast live from Adelaide! It was broadcast on this date and this was when it was recorded but it was definately not the set he played it Adelaide, it wouldve been from an earlier gig on the MoS tour. Ferry did not play Punk, or 'Ultra - Free'. He did however play:
D.H.S. - The House of God (Azzido Da Bass Remix)
System F - Needlejuice
Iio - Rapture (Riva Mix)
Eon - Pocket Damage
Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water (ferry corsten remix)
Veracocha - Carte blanche
System F - Dance Valley Theme 01
Push - The Legacy
Gouryella - Tenshi <--- What a finish!
It wouldve been great if it was recorded tho! Look at that tracklist! |

Thank you so much mr_stamper!!! I was wondering why the tracklist looked a little different to what I remember him playing!
I take it you went along too? What a night! Do you remember when the bassline for Carte Blanche kicked in? I almost died! Mind you, I died twice, the second time being when I recognised the bassline from Tenshi.
Actually, if anyone's a DJ here, do you start to recognising songs solely by their baseline? All the time I hear cars going by in the street and all you can hear is the bassline, but I can still recognise the song. |

Yep, I downloaded that the second it was released! Actually, he played a very similiar tracklist in Sydney to what he played in Adelaide. Mind you, if I was travelling round the world, I wouldn't want to be lugging crates of vinyls around! Plus, I doubt your crowd cares if you played the same tracks the night before - it's not as though they'd know anyway!
Just as a little question, since I guess you were there ... did Ferry seriously start his set with Urban train? Or was that the previous DJ's song? Cause that song is (IMO) a set ender and not an opening track. |

at Two Tribes 2001 Tiesto opened his set with urban train :p
It worked really well actually because picotto was up before him if i recall right and playing his brand of slightly wonky whatever-it-is so when Tiesto got up everyone was cheering and when urban train pulled out of the station the place went bonkers ;) |

I guess I should retract my comment. I can just imagine the crowd going nuts after starting with that song.
BTW, I love the description of Picotto. I couldn't agree with you any more there! :D |

Actually .. Picotto was on after Tiesto, John 00 Fleming was on before Tiesto
Tiesto was about 1/2 an hour late starting his set :( but he started with Urban Train and yes the place did actually go fricken nuts :D
Then he mixed straight into Southern Sun (which had only been played in public 1-2 times EVER) and me & all the TAs went nuts, while everybody else went "wow this song rocks, what is it??"
rofl :D |
