Like the W&W addition. Needs more trance like this that isnt used much in the US. Jochen Miller at EDC lineup was a nice touch. We could bring more of these guys. Ben Gold, Beat Service, Heatbeat, Astrix, etc. Mix up a little psytrance in there besides CL.

No... just wasn't booking any large amount of significant gigs. After the EDC troubles as a whole (numerous artists missed their sets, not sure if he was one of them actually), he may have been willing to book Nocturnal as a makeup, or if he played EDC and had a blast, who knows.

He was "retiring" from touring if I recall his posts correctly.

DT later had a 'clarification' post about retiring... he said he will just from now on be very picky about gigs and not do as many as before mainly due to being tired from so much traveling.

Also, he played EDC when scheduled.

DT "retired" so he can get more bookings.

He was loosing his loft in NYC, and had other financial problems. He went through all of this in his rant.

And look what happened, he sign a 5 gig deal with Insomniac and is doing better now...

I'll probably just get a Saturday ticket, as I assume Group Therapy will be putting on their show on Friday. Tyas b2b Patterson and W&W are worth a single day ticket for me.

Last I checked, they only had weekend passes for $149 GA.

Single day tickets will go on sale in August some time.

I used to get excited about W&W like the rest of you, but a couple of weeks ago I heard a new episode of "Mainstage" and for the first 20-25 minutes I didn't hear a single trance song, all electro-house. :/

Plus I've seen them like 3 times already this year, so they're not going to draw me to a 2-day festival.

yup...sadly w&w is slowly going downhill also for me just like a lot of other trance DJ's. Pretty sure I can name a whole bunch of Trance DJ's who has started playing electro and progressive house more and more into their sets.

One of the most disappointing DJ to me is Sean Tyas. He used to play amazing uplifting trance on both his shows and DJ sets. Now, he starts his sets with Electro and only leave the last 30 min for the old stuff. sigh...
you and me
as much as i like w&w, the first 3 songs they play are always the same in their livesets. change it up!

i feel the days of artists playing IDs are so few - then again there were never this many set recordings even 2-3 years ago.

The real reason artists don't play many IDs anymore is because the market shifted to digital distribution. IDs were a huge part of the vinyl era (due to limited numbers of pressings). Since that era died, IDs are becoming less common (primarily, in my opinion, to the proliferation of individuals who don't buy high quality copies and choose to rip versions of tracks). There is little enticement for a label to put a tune out there way early prior to release because of the piracy issue these days and the fact that labels really make very little money from sales anymore.

instantly falling in love, finally curbing his, ah, "nocturnal activities" at last, and giving him back his respectability in the eyes of many courtiers

I dont know if this is relevent but I stopped listenign to ASOT years ago because 90% of the tracks armin would play weren't even set to release for 6+ months after the episode aired. got old really quick, as someone who likes to download tracks
