In the past couple of days, we had a TA ("Looney4Clooney") who routinely claimed some very impressive musical credentials get exposed as a (probable) fake here. |
That's too bad, I found that persona less annoying than most. However, this is a pseudonymous internet forum, so it's to be expected. It's the truths people share about themselves on the internet that really baffle me. |

Shame on you, Young-hee! |
That's only a small lie, though. |

Probably because what other people saw of your real self didn't impress them enough for your liking. |

If you're not doing anything wrong, putting your safety under risk for no good reason whatsoever, or doing anything illegal... I don't see why not tell the truth. I can't be arsed to come up with an internet persona, although I understand you had to do it to fly under the North Korean radar :p
There are TA's who expose a whole lot about their lives here, and I'm one of them. Everybody knows what I do, what I like, what I hate, and so on. I believe being truthful is a first step towards having good and meaningful relationships online, even if it leaves me vulnerable to individuals who are up to no good. It's a price I'm willing to pay... otherwise I wouldn't even bother being online (and the reason why I believe Facebook is awesome, despite all the hate it gets). |
