Uplifting trance was a fad too. #TranceFamily #HouseNation

hey guys,
if you had to pick one song (in your opinion) that best describes where trance music is at in 2012, which would it be?
Try to be as honest as possible, regardless of what songs anyone else chooses.
thanks,

Gotta represent some down to earth going down from Airwave, Timewave, Joof, Solar fields. If i want to listen to some cheesey , i'd rather stick to some older trance tracks that i remember, because i dont keep track of that ; hell my trance consumption is not very high. your song. Also, why isnt this in music discussion?
you are right, I should have posted it in the music discussion. apologies guys. 1 point to me.

YEAH... I've always thought the same thing. Funny how that happens... wonder if it was inspired a lot by his style.
Love this track.. maybe it's a better example than that Arty track because of its use of chopped vocals. That's very popular these days. Also because of its minimal use of hats -- especially a full hat line, offbeat ride and all. I've been noticing that a lot more lately, too.

I'm not really into all the cheesy hands in the air uplifting , I like stuff more on the prog psy tip I guess at the moment.
This isn't at your typical trance BPM but yeay... trance

Easily, one of the most beautiful tracks from 2012. I really don't know if its labeled as Trance:

This is definitely not trance 2012.

and it's definitely not "easily on of the most beautiful tracks" either.
why is it that when someone has a very niche minority favourite, they try to bolster it by not just claiming universal objective greatness, but effortless domination as well?

lol that sounds dated as fuuuuuuck....
trance has, at least since SvD, been about 5 years behind everything else in EDM. WHen a fad has played out, and people are getting mad when they hear said sound, that's when trance take it's to it's hard. that electro fad was overplayed in 2009 and ever since then trance has been pumping it out. same ing , just take out the pop-rock breakdown and insert some ty ass pads and synth, that sure sounds like trance, but the notes they're playing arent trance.

Not bad. Has a 90's feel to it. Back to basics I guess?
I haven't been listening to much EDM lately, I'm pretty much out of the loop. I have Sirius radio in my car. I flip over to Electric Area sometimes, lots of vocals and some dubstep. Some of it sounds nice, but I'm not really into it. DI.fm Progressive has gotten really strange, don't listen much anymore. I'm heard a few newer progressive house flavored tracks that wowed me. Also hear some tracks that are among the ugliest things I've ever heard.
I think this topic fits into the production forum. If we are releasing new music, we need to know what is in and what is out. Yes, hats seem to be out right now, taking a backseat. I use them sparingly now. Since the styles are all meshing together, I think it's a good time to experiment.
